I didn’t click through. But I don’t read it as the Navy sending drag queens out to recruit.I would want more context than what I've been able to google so far. It appears that the Navy was just highlighting this Sailor and his experiences in the Navy, which is far different than dressing in drag and putting on your uniform to go talk to high school kids.
This Sailor has a *unique* hobby which, to Gen-Z potential recruits, may be refreshing to see a potential career path that is accepting of how you spend your free time. As long as they aren't breaking the law...
Definitely not aimed at you. I just saw a screenshot of this story appear on Fox News, so I know it will get all kinds of reactions from folks who assume drag queens are running around our high schools.
Traditionally, the military gets the most propensity to enlist in the breadbasket of America- conservative rural areas. If I were calling the shots for recruiting strategies, I would for sure change the message in those areas.
But ultimately, the military needs to promote the fact that you can still pursue your passions when you take the uniform off, especially in today's job market.

My guess is numbers won't increase much recruiting drag queens. I also wonder how much this will disrupt trust in your follow "man" that you have to shower with. Or do these folks get to shower with the opposite sex if they choose?

I read it as the Navy using a sailor that dresses in drag as a recruiting tool.
If this guy is a “drag queen” (no idea if the sailor would agree with that characterization) - then is the Navy using “drag queens” to recruit?
I have no problem with the services trying something “new” - Lord knows they need to try something.
But if you lose more than you pick up, then you’re just Bud Light.
My opinion, but the services don’t have the keys to help their recruiting problem- congress does.
Base pay for an E-1 with greater than 4 months of service equates to $11/ hr. As long as the civilian job market stays the way it is, they will have recruiting problems.
That’s not even considering how difficult it is to actually qualify for military service.
Certainly. That’s true.My opinion, but the services don’t have the keys to help their recruiting problem- congress does.
