Millions of Illegal Aliens From All Over The World Head For U.S. Border

Migrant caravan nears the 'route of death' in Mexico where hundreds have been kidnapped by cartels and gangs in recent years

Almost 4,000 Central American immigrants trying to escape gang violence in their home countries entered Veracruz Sunday - the Mexican Gulf coast state where many have been kidnapped in recent years.

The group was for directed northward and into what's known as the 'route of death', settling in the town of Cordoba for some much-needed rest.

But first they had to trek past the state's sugar fields and fruit groves where hundreds of migrants have disappeared after gangs are thought to have snatched them in an effort to obtain ransom payments.

Whether or not you believe we should provide asylum, we must consider that the conditions Hondurans currently deal with are largely the result of our nation's actions in the region.

U.S. roots of Honduran emigration

Our quest to quell communism in Latin America has caused all sorts of problems. We stopped communism for the most part but we ended up with banana republics and populist nations and massive emigration problems as a result.

So having communist/ socialist counties near us would have prevented illegal immigration to the US ? The only thing that prevents people from leaving their country to go to another is either their home country is prosperous and running well or threats of death if they get caught ( this doesn’t even stop it ) . so lets go down the list of prosperous communist / socialist countries that Honduras would have modeled their country after to convince their people to want to stay there and not mass migrate to the US......Crickets .

wonder what they mean by "levee" wall. the number is high (4,577 a linear foot) but dealing with water isn't easy.

also that number including making some existing fencing taller.

So at that rate, how much is it going to cost to finish the wall along the border?

not sure. would need to know how much is yet to be built. how much is built but needs upgrading, conditions, etc.

also I am not a wall guy. Its a dumb idea. right now its more a professional curiosity than anything that gets me talking wall stuff.

About 1,400 miles without a physical barrier.

Zep you want to grant asylum to just anyone, but first just let them cross the border we’ll straighten out the details later?
No. If they claim asylum at a port of entry I have no issues with it after background checks. The wall issue was used to get votes, and it worked. Most of the border already has walls/fencing. People will go under, over, or around whatever we build. Massive waste of money imo.

Land mines would be much more effective.
