MInd Your Manners in Neyland Stadium

I have no problem with standing if a big play happens or it's a close game.

But if you are still standing in front of me when we are beating Georgia St. by 30 points............. Sit the **** down.

Well, it looks like you're well now. :) Need to get rid of that quacker logo tho.

Discharged this afternoon! The doctors were able to salvage the foot (still lost a toe) and the medicine and antibiotic regiment has me crankier than normal, but it's good to be alive.

And the duck logo is there because I did my grad work in Oregon. A little bit of loyalty to the secondary Alma Mater if you will. It may need to go come September, though.

I see it differently. The writer is requesting behaviors that are generally identified as conservative in nature. Displays of respect and consideration for those around you, respect for the National Anthem, and polite behavior in respect to both teams are hallmarks of reserved, conservative behavior. Given the upbringing I was given and the culture and ideology of those who demonstrated said restrictive and controlled behaviors, I would actually surmise that the author might be hyperconservative.

I agree with the poster who used the term curmudgeon. It sounds more appropriate to the situation and less like an attempt of fringe ideologues to fabricate negative connotation for the purpose of societal division.
Interesting points and I can't argue with your analysis either. I believe your last paragraph 100%

Huh?

I've read posts about people with disabilities that are not able to stand at the games. What if my hemorrhoids are really acting up and I can't sit? Do I get thrown out?

I know this means nothing but i actually had a dream about this thread. Ut football and this site consumes probably way to much of my life.

I had a crazy dream that I got sick and I couldnt go to the games anymore. I woke up and I felt weird and sad. Earlier I moaned about standing and yelling and I meant it. I even said i would rather not go to the games.

I can't imagine not being able to go to neyland and I am lucky to say that. Honestly if it means sitting or standing when idk who you are wants me to but I guess it's better than not being at the game at all. I wish it was different in Neyland nowadays but if it means me sitting and not being so excited to make my neighbors comfortable I guess it's a good thing. I guess I need to get used to it because it seems to be our new culture.

This is all anyone is saying. I don't want to stand the ENTIRE game. But I do want to stand, jump, scream, go bat**** crazy when a big play happens, or when we are on defense, or when the opposing team is kicking a huge field goal.

Nobody here wants to sit the entire time, like it's being applied, except for the elderly and those physically incapable of standing.

Like its been said over and over, there's a happy medium that can be reached with a little common sense.

People who want to sit down politely during the whole game need to go to baseball games imao....that's not football.

Or tennis or golf, too. I don't get the politeness shown in any of those sports. If you can't hit the dang ball with people yelling at you, are you really any good?

Just imagine how rocking an intimate environment such as Wimbledon could get if people were encouraged to crank up the noise during matches. Viewership and interest may actually go up.

Gtfo I drove 1200 miles 3 years ago and got kicked out before kickoff for screaming go big orange and hell yea. All because I was around a bunch of older folks who were better off in their damn recliners at home. Pisses me off

That sux, but since it was only 3 years ago you probably went down to the street and bought another ticket for $5. GBO!
