Miss State vs Alabama

Then why focus on the victim, by continually asking if she had just stayed in the stands this wouldn’t have happened? Obviously you agree Burton is more to blame, why not just leave it at that?
There is a reason the SEC has a rule discouraging fans from entering the playing arena. It is for the protection of both the player and the fan.

So your argument here is to drive home the importance of the rule? Thanks for the public service.

While against the rules it is understandable this lady rushed the field with thousands of other fans and that has happened at countless other college games, largely without incident. The university paid the penalty for it. We all agree.

However, what Burton did is 100% inexcusable. Maybe it was a mistake, but it was a POS move and he deserves every bit of ridicule for what he did and the majority of the blame falls squarely on him.

Nah. That’s overkill.

You’ve already agreed that Burton is most to blame here. There guy did a POS thing, caught on video for all to see.
After you agreed it wouldn’t have happened if she had stayed in the stands where she belonged. Charge him. Arrest him.. Try him. Sentence him. Just stop acting like some modern day Jesus Christ on an anonymous message board. John 8:7

It also wouldn’t have happened if she didn’t go to the game. Right? While what you are saying is absolutely true, it’s a ridiculous hill to die on. The primary fault here lies with Burton, period.

I already said that. So charge him, arrest him, try him and sentence him. Let the punishment fit the crime. Let me know how that process plays out from your view on your high horse.

There is no high horse here, the point is your focus on staying in the stands is ridiculous. Like I said, if she didn’t go to the game this wouldn’t have happened either. So what?

Maybe Burton should be charged, i don’t know and don’t care. But he shoulders the majority of the blame. Focusing on what the victim did or didn’t do is absurd.

What's silly is that Saban could have held him out for the 1st half of the MSU game (wouldnt have missed him for a moment) and called it good, and no one would have uttered a peep. Case closed.

Instead, as usual, "the coverup is worse than the crime." I thought Saban was more PR-savvy than this. This is not the hill he wants/needs to die on.

Would she have been pushed had she stayed in the stands? Oh wait….never mind….you already said she wouldn’t have.

Maybe he will consult you the next time something like this arises.

Would she have been pushed had she stayed at home? Think about how ridiculous your narrative is.

You also said Burton is most at fault, so I don’t know what you are trying to argue here outside of finding whatever blame you can on the victim.

What's ridiculous is you asking if an Alabama football player would have pushed the young lady if she had stayed at home. That's how ridiculous your narrative is. Since that is what we're talking about someone being pushed by an Alabama football player on Shields Watkins field

I'm leaning towards you have zero self-awareness. Of course it is ridiculous to say she wouldn't have been pushed/hit/whatever if had just stayed home. My point is it's equally ridiculous to say it wouldn't have happened if she had just stayed in the stands. At the end of the day it was the player that assaulted her, that is the point. Your entire narrative throughout this thread about her not getting hit if she had just stayed where she belongs is past stupid.

And yet, you agree with me. Go figure
