Mississippi State got hosed

What happened? Memphis beat another SEC team.
--I'm not an SEC fanboy, so it's no big deal to me. Obviously and unfortunately the refs played a role in the outcome.

--the SEC has proven itself over the years to be the best league, how many National Football Championship trophies has the AAC racked up over the years? Here is a picture of that football AAC trophy case:

--Memphis' record against Tennessee is 1 win with 22 losses. Only a Memphis fan would consider that a good record.

You ARE an SEC fanboy and it is a big deal to you, else you wouldn't bother to post and to find a picture of you standing in front of your high school band trophy case.

The SEC is the best football conference, thanks to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn. Tennessee is a hanger on.

Tennessee will not play Memphis. Why is that?

Mississippi State never downed the ball.

The Pirate got outcoached.

Memphis would beat the Vols 3 touchdowns this year and for the past 10 years. It hurts but it's true.
You are wrong several counts. MSU did down the ball. His knee was in the ground with his hand on the ball. That is possession and the play is over.

That did not happen.

The booth never questioned that it did. The Pirate never questioned that it did. The player who should have downed the ball never questioned that it did.

This thread was about a punt play. I tho't it would make sense to post a video of the play to make it convenient so people could see for themselves what happened and make their own judgement call on it. The refs did play role in the outcome of the game.

Continue what? If you want to compare educational and occupational histories with me, I’m game. I’m 38 and think I’d end that conversation rather quickly. That is unless you owned 32 restaurants before the age of 35. Or were hired as COO of a company when you were 33. Or served three tours in Iraq as a member of the Marines Corps. Or graduated from two of the most prestigious universities in the county. If you did all those things then good for you and I’ll retract my statement.

You got me on the Marines Corps service and I honor you for that. The rest...not so much.

You are referring to the targeting call against Memphis the first half?

What about the official calling the play dead, or that two players were wearing the same number? Were you even watching, or are you having one of those I hate Mike Leach hissyfits?

If the official called the play dead, why did they count the touchdown? Isn't that contrary?

I think the two players wearing #4 were twins. Either that or it was a special teams strategy.

I was watching. I like Mike Leach.

The replay showed him calling the play dead. Nobody has a reason why they let it go. And the double number thing is illegal and should have been a penalty. Thus the controversy and hosing allegations.

I mean.. you guys selectively play Memphis and haven’t agreed to a game in over a decade.

And the only football fans in the world that are always talking about how strong their “league” is are bottom tier S-E-C fans. Half the student body currently at UT literally didn’t know how to walk the last time UT played a bowl game of consequence. Tulane has more SEC titles than MS State does. Getting curb stomped by Alabama every year doesn’t make you good.

Why has Memphis not joined a major conference but instead chosen to play powerhouses like Temple, Tulsa, Wichita State each year? Join a major power conference first, then talk the big talk.
You wait for TN to have a down period THEN start the big talk. Where was this big talk when TN was beating Alabama and Memphis year in and year out?

Y'all really need to let the jersey number thing go. It makes you look pissy.

Memphis would have scored anyway.

Two decades is down period?

Memphis is proud of Memphis. UT is proud to be in the SEC.
