Mississippi State got hosed

Not if they had called a pre snap penalty by the rule book for having duplicate jersey numbers. Fair is fair.

I think they were out of jersey numbers and had to use two number fours. Seriously though, how big an advantage is it to have two players with the same jersey number?

It wasn’t an advantage. I’m just pointing out a bigger issue that I’ve been harping on through the first few weeks of this season across the landscape. The officiated has been an abomination. They even called a penalty on an instant replay review in that game. The legality of that is still up in the air.

There's alot of games being officiated today. What about this one in particular has you so disturbed?

I’ve given you at least three examples, but I could do the same with a lot of games. I chimed in on this one because that was the topic of conversation.

Per Mike Leach:

“Well, I mean, the ball’s live,” Leach said. “Just cause you touch it, usually they whistle it, you know, but we’ve got to pick it up and hand it to the ref.”

Heaven knows Vol fans know what it’s like to get hosed by the refs in Memphis.

Per the SEC:

"The statement explained the ball remained "live by rule since it was not possessed by a player nor did it come to rest in bounds with no player attempting to secure it."

Illegal blocking on an onside kick is one of the few reviewable penalties. There were many blunders today, but that wasn't one of them.

I see the Pirate lovers are having a hard time tonight. He was never going to be successful in the SEC, sorry to burst your bubbles.

So the officials are making sure if it?

UT has a bushel barrel of bad calls through the years. It never changes the outcome of the game. You drink your way through it or find a way to live it but bitching about it will not change the official winner and loser of the game. If the Pirate had been a better coach the refs could not have screwed his team like that if you want to go down that road. Relax, you can yuk it up with him at his press conference, he'll have everyone laughing in no time.

Refs issued a statement that they botched the call. Sucks for Mississippi State. They should be 3-0.
