I live in Missouri. Similar to some of y'all that live on the west side of the great state of Tennessee, I occasionally see people wearing black and gold. More often than not, I see it hanging on racks for sale with nobody buying it.
That being said, I will say that despite my wearing Tennessee gear almost every day to work (I do wear band/concert shirts sometimes), I have yet to have one single Mizzou fan do any form of chirping at me about it. After the absolute thrashing they received from the Vols at their place last year (I was in attendance, it was GLORIOUS to see their fans leaving midway through the 1st quarter), they know what's coming; and since they just gave their coach an extension, what's going to continue happening.
I don't want the guys to just beat Mizzou. A win is nice, great, and all that jazz.......this needs to be a reminder of who we really are and who they never will be again. This needs to be like last year, completely over and done with by the middle of the first quarter. This needs to be an absolute thrashing, but not because of my fandom behind enemy lines, but because it's Senior Night at Neyland. Those gentlemen have absolutely exemplified the saying on the sign that they touch prior to every game: "I will give my all for Tennessee today". Those seniors have absolutely been through hell, and have made it through the fire. This is their last game in Neyland Stadium, and they, more than anyone else, deserve this win.
The phrase "Vols by fitty" has been bandied about all season, mostly in a joking manner. It's time that it comes to fruition, for our seniors.
Vols 70
Mizzou 13 (garbage time TD against the 14th stringers and walk-ons).
