Missouri to sec west

From a football standpoint adding those four schools would be awesome.

EAST

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Tennessee
Georgia
Cocks
Vandy
Kentucky

WEST

LSU
Arkansas
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Missouri
Texas A&M

That's about as good as it gets. The East is probably more top-heavy, but its doormats are worse.

Poor pups, CMR may as well quit b4 this happens! lmao

Interesting that both Texas and the Domers are apparently batting eyes at the ACC some. It's 2 AM in the Conference Realignment Saloon and only the fat chicks are left.

Awesome news! I guess the SEC will yank their offer to A&M now and everything will just go back to normal, right?

No, aTm was and is coming regardless of this

If anything, just the Baylor lawsuit disappears .... Unless Ken Starr is just a jerk

If Pac 12 is not expanding and Oklahoma sticks to its guns and wants out if Big 12 cant offer equal revenue. Do the 2 Oklahoma schools join A&M and Missouri.

OU seems like it's currently trying to make a power play in the conference personally....i'm not sure this is something they just "go SEC" afterwards

....I actually need to find and read the whole statement, double check this isn't all lawyer speak

I was being sarcastic. A&M isn't leaving out of conference instability or even the Longhorn Network; they're leaving because they're butthurt about being the perennial little brother. Which means we're still going to have to get to 14, which means we're still going to screw around with the SEC in order to add a couple of also-rans.

This probably changes nothing as far as Mizzou goes, so I'd expect them to still be a target for the 14th team. I would expect that they'd still want to get the hell into a stable situation. They don't give a crap about Texas or Oklahoma; the only school that matters to Mizzou in that conference is Kansas.

sorry, hard to read into that sometimes on these

The only thing is though mizzou were the ones who spent this entire time going out of their way / attempting to keep the Big 12 together through all this.....if part of the agreement was the big 12 falling disbanding, I'm just not so sure they continue through with it

I want the easiest schedule possible. Alabama and Auburn in the same year every year would be tough if we still had to play UGA, UF, USCeast and one hard/medicore OOC opponent. I wouldn't mind dropping Bama from the schedule they are dominating us right now. You guys gotta be careful what you wish for or we won't ever make a BCS game again.

Yeah, I don't understand the suggestion of moving Vandy to the West, so Bama can come to the East. Rivalries are important, but so is winning.

If we do play Bama, Auburn, and our current East rivals every year, the net result wouldn't make it any tougher for us than it is now. We play Bama, LSU, and Arky this year as it is. The team that would really be suffocated is UK. That 8-team division with Bama and Auburn in the East would squeeze UK out of the postseason in a normal year.

They can still guarantee both games are played ever year. Right now, we rotate two teams out of the West on two year intervals with one every year(Bama). We can still drop one west opponent and pick up the extra east. If we want to keep the three west games, all the teams can drop one OOC game a year.

I like it because the Auburn rivalry will heat up again

Agreed. Auburn back as an every year opponent and we keep Bama and play, potentially, 9 conference games a year. I call it making chicken salad out of chicken $h!t, or turning lemons into lemonade.

That is weak. It's bully talk. It's like saying I'm going to pick on the smaller kids because I don't have the brass balls to stand up for myself. Let the schedule get harder, it just means we have to get better.

god! we would finish middle of the pack in that division also..

Some people on here are ready to surrender before the fight even starts. I hope you aren't the same people who talk about the team quitting on the field. So what if our schedule gets a little tougher? It's just a little further to climb. I want to win as bad as anyone, but not if it means scheduling creampuffs to do it. It means something when you beat the toughest kids on the block. Beating the ones you should beat means nothing. Greatness is all about overcoming adversity.

why not, florida and bama, and lsu do it..

You schedule creampuffs and beat the **** out of em, carry the momentum to the next game, beat that team. tell the recruits how well you guys are doing, go 8-4,9-3, year after year. Recruits start to notice. they commit at the end of the year, use them to beat the big boys, start winning rings, ---> build a dynasty.

I should work for UT athletic department. It seems to be working for BSU, and TCU.

heard on espn radio today (at about 1 p.m.) that west virginia was possibility to go to east and that half of the remaining big 12 members would go to mountain west and the others would go to big east. then to get an automatic bid into BCS MWC champ and Conference USA champ would have a play in game.

this may already be posted but didn't see it.

yeah in a few threads already

the whole OU willing to negotiate to save the conference kind of killed that though

I really think that I like the idea of WVU better than Mizzou anyway. We could just add them to the east, and not worry about scheduling conflicts with our usual rivals and add a hard game to play in WVU. I think that WVU is every bit as good and probably with better tradition than Mizzou. I think it also gets us a little closer to the Maryland market which has produced some really good talent in recent years.

it's ties to the maryland market aren't really all that strong....not as strong as they'd probably tell you and as upside would like to think

They said they'd be fine with having to schedule with 13 teams for a year or so; i'd expect them to take that route now and just wait a bit longer

they won't add just any team, solely to get a nice number

Per Andy Katz:

The Pac-12 decided it won't expand further late Tuesday because commissioner Larry Scott failed to get assurance that Texas would back an equal revenue sharing plan if the league added the Longhorns, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, a source with direct knowledge told ESPN.com.

So yep, texas screwed everyone, (really everywhere) over yet again

Well I dont really know how to gauge the strenght of ties to Maryland's football market but they do have 10 players from Marylnad on their current roster. I am sure that the proximity alone would give Tennessee a better chance at landing some of the talent from Maryland. If nothing more than the actual distance from Marylnad powerhouse programs to Morgantown. I dont know I just think it would be a good addition...and WVU is still below the Mason-Dixon line. I just dont really think that Mizzou's addition would be that advantageous for the Vols or the SEC for that matter.
