Missouri's defense fell hard after Pinkel got sick and had to leave.

Which is kind of odd because you'd think hiring the DC would mean they picked a guy at least capable of fielding somewhat of a defense...but no just keep on running that Big 12 DB-heavy defense your DC ran at TCU.

Barry Odom's a former DC himself, there's no excuse for their defense to be playing this poorly against Missouri State.

I know, he was their DC. That's just baffling - last year as well - that if you hire a DC who ran a top 10 defense for that team the year before he was hired and if that defense returned most of its starters...how does running it in a way that drops it all the way to like 116th in the country come across as a good idea?


A former DC scrapped their entire staff and defensive scheme, hired a DC from TCU, and decided that running a DB-heavy, spread defensive style from the Big 12 was still the best way to go in this conference, even after how terrible last year's defense was.

I thought they looked worse. Mizzou State was score for score against the tigers until the closing minutes of the 1st half.
