Mitch Mustain...

what a joke. Scout team is one of the most important parts of a football team because they make the starters better. The better the scout team is, the better the starters become because of the EXPERIENCE they get by playing against them. No depth = bad scout team. bad scout team = no experience. no experience + Lots of frosh on OLine =scary. yes, their superior talent will pay off in the long run, but that will not be until later after they have had more EXPERIENCE!

UT has good talent on the OL but all of the talented guys are young.

Hiestand and Wylie are the critical factors.

Dooley made a telling comment awhile back when he said that his staff was surprised by how small UT's linemen were.

Wylie's claim to fame was taking 2* and 3* OL's and turning them into the most physical OL in the Big 12. In the entire time he was there they signed three 4* OL's. About half of the rest were 2* according to Rivals. It would be interesting if someone close to the program could give us an undate on his impact on the OL's.

Wed have one hole. DT. Wed be at least SEC average at every other position if we got mustain. We are a quality football team that is poised to win 8 games as it is. Mustain is very god. Hed be a top 5 SEC QB the day he stepped on campus.

One of our biggest holes is that - save WR, RB, and maybe DB - if anyone ends up getting hurt at all, we really dont have the depth to replace them readily currently

and injuries happen often on the football field....most times more than just a single guy throughout the year

experience is somewhat important. Depth is somewhat important. Neither is more important that talented starters. Ill take our chances with shaw pope stocker james and stone over at least half of the sec olines.

talent though - about 6 or 7 out of 10 times - just doesn't immediately translate into success without experience first; especially when all the guys are really young

We're not going to get sacked every play but we're also going to get blown up or mistaken on plays plenty

So the old poster on ESPN i've quoted a couple of times thus far (works in athletic department - admissions i think) confirms Mustain has some interest in UT.

However, with the rule against seniors transfering to the SEC - this will not be confirmed until the appeal goes through. He is in no way a UT lock, but he has shown interest and spoken to staff.

So if the stars align (i.e. appeal goes through and Mitch decides on UT) then expect him to be behind center!

thanks for the info
