Yep— what’s the latest report on Agude? Is he still planning a visit?

He’s still got some cleanup left to do on that MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement, but as soon as he gets that wrapped up and gets this Ukraine mess settled, I believe he’ll find his way here for a visit.

Coming off a pair of official visits to Pac-12 schools, one of Tennessee's top targets in the NCAA transfer portal has confirmed that the Vols are scheduled to host him on an official visit. UCLA defensive end Mitchell Agude told GoVols247 that he's planning to take official visits to Miami on March 21-23 and to Tennessee on April 1-3.

Agude, a second-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2021, already has been on an official visit to Washington the weekend of March 5, and he went to Oregon last weekend on his most recent trip. He announced Feb. 22 in a post on his Twitter account that he had narrowed his focus to a top four of Oregon, Washington, Miami and Tennessee, and he tweeted Feb. 28 that he couldn't "wait to visit my top 4."

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Agude is a former junior-college transfer who played the past two seasons with the Bruins. He has one remaining season of eligibility.

He was one of UCLA’s most productive players during the 2021 season, finishing fourth on the team with 54 tackles and adding 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, four forced fumbles and three pass breakups. After announcing in January that he would return to the Bruins rather than entering the 2022 NFL draft, he added his name to the transfer portal on Feb. 16.

Agude also was productive in 2020, when he finished UCLA’s seven-game season with 24 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and three quarterback hurries.

The Corona, Calif., native played at Corona's Santiago High School and then Riverside (Calif.) City College before signing with UCLA in 2020. He was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 22 overall junior-college prospect and No. 2 juco weakside defensive end in the 2020 class.

He initially committed to Maryland in February 2019 before flipping to UCLA in October of the same year.

Agude started his 2021 season in great form with five tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles against Hawaii before recording six tackles, one sack and two more forced fumbles when the Bruins stunned LSU in Pasadena. Later in the season, he had a tackle for loss against Oregon, notched a tackle for loss and recovered a fumble against Colorado, and recorded a sack against California. His best game came against rival USC, with Agude piling up 10 tackles with a tackle for loss in a blowout victory over the Trojans.

You know aside from the fact we have Coach Gardner one of the best DL coaches, developer and recruiter, if we set that aside for a moment we should be a top option for alot or pass rush guys, considering were gonna have the lead pretty often giving them more opportunities to sack the opposing QBs

Just a thought.

Why do some still say Gardner? How can you be a Vol fan and not know his name`s spelling??

Translation: He figured he could make more in a year of College Football than his current draft stock. UCLA couldn't pony up.

Miami 247 mod:

"Learned today that the UCLA transfer was actually in Miami for a couple of days before his official visit started because he came down for spring break. His parents met him here on Sunday. I do think Miami feels good about where they stand with him. One source told me that the family seems to really like them. Still a ways to go here with an official to Tennessee still on the table. Not going to sit here and make predictions and all that. Just wanted to pass those nuggets along."

Later:

"He’s a pure DE. Seeing him in person I’m pretty sold. Also has an 81” wing span. Sign me up if he wants in"

Except spring break was a madhouse this past week/weekend and if your a parent you highly question your child’s safety after the number of shootings that took place and over 100 guns confiscated by police in a weekend during spring break
