MLB to ban home plate collisions

I'm all for removing the collisions from the game, but this wouldn't be happening if it was Rod Barajas' ankle that was throttled in a collision.

Never seen a bat thrown either, kicked yes. Not talking about 20 feet up the line but to the 3rd base side. Umpire will remove it if he can. There's a difference in what one see's standing 3 feet from the action verses watching from the stands or at home. What's your beef with umpires?

Yeah, when they show the camera angles going up the baseline from third to home and you don't see a bat or a mask anywhere in site, then they give you another view from behind the plate down the third baseline and you still don't see a mask or a bat ANYWHERE near the baseline, it's just that we can't see it. The dirt and grass camoflauge the bat.

I think you know that a) it's about one catcher a year that gets hurt and B) The breaking ball example is ludicrous (Nevermond the fact that I can't ever remember seeing it happen).

Still more than one blue moon a year. The breaking ball and fastball to the face mask causes way more concussions than home plate collisions cause injury. Why do we have to solve every little problem with legislation? We can solve this by improving certain technologies like guards, pads, and masks rather than make more rules that umpires fail to get right.
