Yeah. Definitely.

Although, Smith and Slaughter have us covered there pretty good.

Luttrell ain't nothing to sneeze at either, but John Slaughter and Smith look like absolute ballers at safety.

Love reminds me of Joe McKinght.
I think Jourdan Thomas will be a damn good player too, and once we get some actual corners on the roster Charles will be back at safety which should help

Yeah he did awhile back but Tennessee is getting a visit supposedly
He just committed last month I think and ND has 2 backs already committed. He’s the best of the 3 though. Finishing with this guy, Hobbs, Carter, and Ramil alone would be incredible, but adding M’Pemba on top of that would just be sick

That is my hope for next year. Charles could be outstanding at Safety. Start him at one Safety, Thomas or Walker at the other. An experienced group of Turnage, Slaughter, and Hadden, along with Matthews and Gibson coming in, should have the boundary CB spots covered. Also, Dee Williams with a spiring and fall practice, could be a factor.

I’m also interested to see if Cam Miller can factor in at Safety after a redshirt year to learn the position. Regardless, we’ll go into 2023 in much better shape and with many more options in the secondary.

We've gotta get a DB Coach that an actually Coach and develop. There's a reason Martinez was at UCF after the big time jobs he's had. He was once known as an elite recruiter but suspect developer..Now he's not even an elite recruiter. Our Secondary shouldn't be as bad as they are. Horrible angles to the ball, constantly getting burned and poor tackling. Hoping CJH upgrades that position.

Yeah the coaching is piss poor just like he was during the Butch era. Emmanuel Moseley couldn’t cover here and then becomes lockdown corner once he gets to the 49ers

We have no good dbs on the backend though, also Willy got 2 DBs drafted last year, and 3 the year before that

What is an elite recruiter? Martinez is primary for Jordan Matthews, Gibson, Conyer. Secondary for Sly Smith.

Also primary for Kaleb Beasley.

Absolutely..Our Secondary was awful when he was here under Butch and I think this group may be worse. I'm hoping CJH gets fed up with it and makes a change. If we could get even a top 40 Defense/ Secondary play to go with this offense, we will be hard to beat.

He got 1 DB drafted. Alonte Taylor started at corner in the SEC as a true freshman. The talent was always there and he was drafted based on his talent not necessarily his performance last season. Theo Jackson on the other hand wasn’t that, but he wasn’t a corner

We are already hard to beat. Only 1 team has accomplished that task.

Vols defense ranks 36th in the country in ppg at 21.67. 36th is within top 40.

Our secondary stats during the Butch years say otherwise.
