Tennessee continues to be trendy with some really high end targets. It’s our belief that Tennessee has the momentum for Williams Nwaneri after his most recent trip to Knoxville. He and the staff have a lot of good vibes around them and they have pulled even and may have even moved past Oklahoma at this point.
-VQIt’s important to point out that his coach is a former Sooner player who played with Josh Heupel but we don’t believe that is influencing his decision. His coach is a good reference for one school and a great resource to back up the genuine person that Heupel showcases with recruits on a daily basis. Expect Garner to be out to see him when the coaches get out for spring evaluations next week.
Can't believe he has only been playing football since his sophomore year. So many recruits get called "raw" because they only have a few years experience of playing football. This recruit was putting up insane numbers his second year of football. If you are big, strong, and fast it shouldn't take you a long time to learn to play football at the high school level.
He can manufacture WR production and exploit mismatches. That’s not really the same as manufacturing a WR. Him and this staff haven’t proved they could develop a WR capable of beating an NFL DB though. We saw with Georgia and South Carolina what can happen when our best WR is lined up against someone that isn’t a complete liability like Demarco Hellams was. I like Leacock as that guy eventually, but you’ve gotta have more than 1 on your rosterI’d prefer Nwaneri though. You have to recruit top end defensive talent. Heupel can manufacture WRs in this offense.
