'24 MO DL Williams Nwaneri (Mizzou commit)

Yeah. I wasn't thinking NIL as much as I was thinking your culture comment, but NIL angle is definitely valid. I tend to lean a current player/coach saw something they didn't like. Anyway, on to the next.

I don't have any inside info but it feels like Oklahoma has the inside track on this one. Maybe they just need a high profile boost and are willing to pay up for it.

What the problem is,you all think because NIL has arrived that the old system of boosters and bag men is gone.I think the old system is still going strong just as always and the NIL thintg is just a distraction. The same teams that have no. 1 recruiting classes every year are not doing it by way of NIL.JMOView attachment 562538

WHY would they risk violations when they can route it through a collective with no limits????

I hope we push more for Williams now that Franklin seems out of the picture
lol.

I don't think we've stopped pursuing this kid, he just has his sights set elsewhere. But I'm sure someone will start up crap when he eventually goes elsewhere.

We're not going to stop pursuing Franklin either.

AP posted some version of this in the War Room so.. we’re still swinging here and there’s some optimism. Georgia still feels confident but I get the sense they’re fading and wouldn’t surprise me to see Missouri rise as they make a big push to keep him home.
Missouri is a **** hole and won’t sniff the top 12 of the conference. Ever again

Agree - OK at least has pedigree, but Mizzou is just a pointless decision. Their ceiling is what? 7-5? 6-6?

I get the allure of wanting to build something up, but there is a massive difference between building at UT and building at Mizzou.
Agreed. Drink isn’t going to build anything at Mizzou.

Oklahoma or Mizzou bound. That is the word locally anyway.
Would rather him go there than Georgia.

Here was the quote from AP

As for NWaneri, multiple people told us late in the week that NWaneri and Tennessee have had pretty strong dialogue in the last week or so. He is at Oregon this weekend and Georgia and Missouri are both making big pushes for him. Tennessee hasn’t gone quietly into the night and it’s to be noted that the Vols are currently still in this battle.

Spoken by someone who has clearly never been to Columbia, MO.

I‘m not claiming it’s paradise, but Columbia is a great college town.

If the kid’s preference is to spend his college years there, why hold that against him?
My wife went to Como and it is better than average college town. The biggest hit is the cold weather. I mean COLD. Him living in MO understands cold, but I could only stand it for 4 years before I left.

We always make this trip and have a great time with great people. Every single one of them.

I think the OP might have been more apt by saying: "why would anyone want to go play for Drink in a program that struggles to seat 55k people per game?" THAT I can understand
