'24 MO DL Williams Nwaneri (Mizzou commit)

Missouri is a **** hole and won’t sniff the top 12 of the conference. Ever again
That's what others were saying about UT for a long time.

Missouri is starting to produce more talent. TN has ten 4* players this year. Missouri has two 5* players and 7 4* players. The inclusion of Texas and OU in the SEC actually helps Mizzou in recruiting. When they were "good", a lot of their talent came from Texas.

I agree with others that Drinkwitz isn't the guy to get it done. He should have stayed where he was. Success in one place doesn't always translate. However, writing Mizzou off as a "****hole" is foolish.

My wife went to Como and it is better than average college town. The biggest hit is the cold weather. I mean COLD. Him living in MO understands cold, but I could only stand it for 4 years before I left.

We always make this trip and have a great time with great people. Every single one of them.

I think the OP might have been more apt by saying: "why would anyone want to go play for Drink in a program that struggles to seat 55k people per game?" THAT I can understand
I've lived in Missouri for the past 22 years. It is just a little colder on average than Knoxville. More snow. The wind is the worst part.

It isn't cold enough to scare anyone away that wouldn't be scared away from UT, UK, App St, Va Tech, tOSU, Michigan, etc.

He's accustomed to it. I love my Cardinals, but I'm not moving back. 😉

If I had to live in STL... I'd be looking to leave. I live in rural Missouri. Rural life isn't for everyone but we prefer it. Great neighbors. Great friends. Great culture. Open spaces. Great hunting and fishing. Great church.

There are inconveniences but I'll take the trade any day.

There is no comparison between UT and mizzou. They have never been a national powerhouse like UT. Mizzou is more like Kentucky with a stadium analogous to Vandy's.

Luther Burden did. Some instate guys like their instate schools. Also Dorkowitz might be a coach players really like.
They really didn't know how to use him. His stats scream mediocre, always seemed like Dink was looking for reasons not to throw to him.

He would have been 3rd in receptions here.
6th in yards
and about 15th in average yards per catch

None of which means it is a ****hole or can never compete if they find the right coach

Again. Two years ago a lot of people were saying UT would never compete again

And, again, Tennessee has a history of relevance in football, while Mizzou has largely always been irrelevant. So anybody saying Tennessee would never compete again is an idiot. Conversely, saying mizzou will always be mediocre is very reasonable.

Anyone making either of those declarations is an idiot. You can question the likelihood. That’s fair.

Calling it a ****hole that can never compete is ignorant

So this kid is a legit possibility again? FTR there is no question UT is the choice I would make between the Vols and Mizzou for a lot of reasons

Interesting comment coming from a Dawg.

I believe the NCAA has already (last year) made cut blocking illegal outside the tackle box. However, it's still legal for linemen and RB's inside the tackle box to use cut blocks, and lots of teams still do it occasionally. From what I've seen, Drinkwitz uses it more than most, although not to the level that Paul Johnson did at GT. I'd like to see it made illegal inside the tackle box too.

Not sure on that. But I do know that Kublanow dirty cut has never been legal.

You do realize Missouri has won the SEC East twice (in 2013 and 2014) since we last won the East in 2007. Right?

Yes, I realize they won the east in two years when the division was really weak. That's two years out of over 100 years of football. What have they done since?

Compare the histories of the two programs. Compare our fanbase, facilities, etc of the two programs. Tennessee and mizzou aren't even close to being equal.
