‘23 MO EDGE Samuel M’Pemba (UGA commit)

I've actually heard from a few folks with good connections that Kirby was very interested in the UT job after Dooley was fired. The admin wanted to stay away from coaches from the Saban tree since that was part of their selling point when hiring Dooley and they also wanted a sitting head coach, so they never were interested in Kirby.
So they thought Butch was the way to go?
Brilliant

I have a good friend who played QB at Alabama and is around that program on a weekly basis. I asked him a few times during the Butch search about Kirby. He told me that Kirby respects the job at UT and the tradition but that he hates Tennessee and would never come here. I'm not refuting what you heard because I believe you when you say that some connected people were saying that. I've never spoken to Kirby Smart about his HC aspirations so my info is second hand as well. It's always interesting how many different takes there are from people who are connected during a coaching search. All of the connected people believe their info is the gospel because they hear it from other connected people. I know this, I'm glad that we aren't going to be in that cauldron of confusion again anytime soon.

I read somewhere (probably here) that they wanted to use Harrison on the edge but he doesn't have the "lean" to be very successful there.... 🤷‍♂️
There were literally almost a complete 2 years of play to prove that evaluation 🙄.

I've been his biggest fan.

But look at his numbers before that Vandy game.

Credit Banks for trying some different with him.

OK....... If you say so. 🙄

Just something I read, I haven't payed close enough attention to have a personal opinion of his play.

Nobody helping after that LSU beatdown..........think we just lost him.

That’s exactly what I meant.
If Tennessee had a chance they lost the minute Banks left to try and close the deal.

He can’t make in game adjustments
He still doesent get that Tennessee can’t play zone
As bad as Martinez is a lot of Banks miscues are passed onto him unfairly.
