The reason for the investigation was the fact they live in a compound in the middle of nowhere and SEVERAL locals heard and still hear to this day automatic gun fire and small explosions. But I'm sure their just practicing their faith. My problem is not their religion, I don't care who you or anyone else believes in, my problem is these people who up to possibly bad **** but because the general public is brainwashed with political correctness nowadays we are supposed to look the other way and just leave them alone. There just worshipping right?

If this is true, then I understand the local community's concern; however, I will also point out that there are extreme right wing groups that also do these things as well (and often affiliated with Christianity). These anti-govt., sometimes Christian fundamentalists are just as likely to kill a police officer as any Muslim here in America. Let's just say that there are people, both Christian and Muslim, religious and non-religious, that sometimes take things way too seriously.

pretty sure you need to go back a lot farther than that

Maybe you're referring to Christian-Muslim animosities? I'm referring to American-Muslim animosities specifically. Maybe that explains the mixup? Regardless, you're probably right that it goes back before the 1940s/50s, but I don't know that I would date it much sooner than the 1910s/20s with the rise of Wahabism/Arab nationalism. While I could be wrong, I think it was around the time of WWI, the waning days of the Ottoman Empire, and the post-war colonialist struggles with European powers that Arab nationalism began to wed some forms of fundamentalist Islam (like wahabism, for instance). This was not necessarily a development across the board, but one that would become influential. I think this development also set Arab nationalism/Islamic fundamentalism (which aren't necessarily the same thing by any means) against modern European states (although of course the Crusades also set Europe and Islam at odds). Increasing support for zionism around this same time (1920s-40s) back in America is one development I see as responsible for America gradually taking the identity of "evil aggressor" away from European states in their eyes. This is what I see as the modern origins of the trouble, and I'm sure there's some things I'm leaving out as well.

Anyhow, my point in all this was not necessarily to be pretentious, but I know that a lot of Americans, when asked why is it that they hate us so much, will simply say things like, "Well, they hate our freedom. They're jealous," or something like, "They're wanting to impose Islamic law on all of us." While some of this might be true to some extent, none of this really accounts for why it is that they hate us in the first place. It's circuitous. Instead, the history of our animosities are far more complex and go back to a history of Western subjugation of the Middle East (once imperially, and today, more culturally/politically), which intensified hatred for one another on both sides unfortunately. And no, this does not excuse killing innocent people in the name of Islam, before anyone accuses me of doing that in this post.

Pretty easy to understand really. "if" these people decide to do something terror wise then they are very close to causing alot of chaos. I'm not saying they will, or they think that way so don't put those words in my mouth. I guess I shouldnt mention that most of the men there work at the Nashville international airport. And before you say anything every bit of this has been proven by news channel 5 in Nashville. They did an investigative report on it like 2 years ago.

This is a bosgap quality post, and he was a made up character. I'm assuming this is real.

So let me get this straight.

There is a large number of Muslins living near the Cumberland City TVA, because it's normally suspicious for people to be living near an important place. Many of them work at the Nashville airport, which is obviously suspicious because I'm sure a post-9/11 era airport has no vetting process whatsoever. And it's especially scary because occasionally people have heard gunfire and explosions, something you absolutely never hear living in the south.

These potential terrorists must be doing a horrible job of covering their tracks, huh.

We in murfreesboro do not wish to keep anyone from practicing their religion. We merely have questions abouthe new mosque and mosque leaders that no one wants to answer. We are not concerned with religious aspects of islam. We are ,however, concerned with the political aspirations of mosque leadership. We want to know why they are building a 53000 sq ft mosque when only 45 families are active in the mosque. We want to know why abdou kattih, the mosque treasure, once stated they didnt have the money to build but only a few months later they had more than enough donated. Where did the money come from? They wont tell. Also why wont he talk about his connections to the north american islamic trust which is a front group for the muslim brotherhood according to federal prosecutors. Why are they sending emails to the rutherford county school board demanding sharia compliance. Why does emam ossama mohamed bahloul condone sharia law. We want the truth about business connections between members of the mosque board and our mayor. Why did the mayor tell council members to ok construction quickly or else the city would be sued. Just a few of the many questions we have. Also why do mosque board members uphold hamas militants as heros on myspace and facebook? This has nothing to do with religious islam only political islam and da'wah(nonviolent jihad)

Holy crap, I just saw the ending of that post. Nonviolent jihad? Da'wah is literally the same thing as evangelizing, only in Islam. Good god, I really wish my town would get a little dumber.

I see nothing wrong with asking questions of a church whose religious beliefs have been linked to mass murder and countless terror attacks. Freedom of or from religion is wonderful as long as the religious reciprocate the freedom to non participants.

It isn't paranoia, it's history.

Nonviolent jihad is invaribly followed by violent jihad.

AS IF you're qualified to speak for Murfreesboro.

Have you noticed how many of my posts are getting deleted these days.

I suppose if a liberal can't win a debate they can just go deaf and pretend nothing was said.

Not sure if serious...

It's sad you are so difecient in knowledge of world history that you would even remotely wonder if he is serious.

Nonviolent jihad is a term manufactured by those of your ilk who wish to characterize preaching as something malicious.

AS IF you're qualified to speak for Murfreesboro.

Moreso than a guy who doesn't live here and another that can't figure out punctuation.

Oh yeah, I've always felt like doing this to you.

You know, except for that part where this particular church has lived peacefully within this community for, oh, 30 years now.
