Mooslims allowed to practice religion in TN!

I live in the Boro, for over 15 years actually. Through this whole process, I've been quite involved and done my homework to say the least. I am very familiar with Islam, its roots, traditions, etc.
First off, I take issue with those who know little of the situation yet instantly label those opposed to the mosque as bigots.
Problem one : a senior member of the murfreesboro mosque, mossad rowash, has several times posted pro Hamas photos and expressed his love and praise for the terrorist group, including photos of things like AK 47s. I take issue with this.
Second:phrases on the icm website speaking of establishing "an Islamic stronghold on the community ",which were quickly removed after it caused quite a stir. Poor choice of words to say the least.
Third:research the body buried without permit on the icm grounds. Major health issues there regarding burial depth/procedure, as well as not getting the required approval to bury there prior. They got approval afterward. I call BS on that.
Fourth:when the imam was asked to condemn terrorist acts in the name of Allah, he refused. Why?
Fifth: the icm is indeed pushing for segregated physical ed classes (male/female), prayer areas and times in school, and a Muslim Friendly lunch menu. As a Christian, we aren't given those rights. Now people feel we should allow it to them?
I could go on and on, but most will just watch CNN specials that try to paint a portrait of a bunch of intolerant rednecks, and accept it as absolute truth while having no real clue what they speak of.

There might be legitimate concerns with the mosque, but that's just weak.

I am all for freedom of religion. And I see where PKT Vol is coming from. If we persecute the Muslim today, it could be the Christain tomorrow. But in this case I share your concerns. My concern is that these mosques are being used to promote terrorism and there appears to be some evidence to substantiate this. I would expect the Baptist church to get the same scrutiny if Baptists were blowing up buildings and promoting terrorism. Islam appears to be an intolerant religion. As long as the Muslim respects my beliefs, I will respect his. But when he doesn't then he has got to go.

You know, except for that part where this particular church has lived peacefully within this community for, oh, 30 years now.

I guess you missed the part where members of the board of the mosque supported hamas?

Oh wait, I bet you think hamas is justified to carry on their terror campaign?

Victims of Palestinian Terror since Sept 2000

Victims of Palestinian Violence and Terrorism since September 2000

1,226 people have been killed by Palestinian violence and terrorism since September 2000.

Note: This list also includes 18 Israelis killed abroad in terror attacks directed specifically against Israeli targets, and 3 American diplomatic personnel killed in Gaza.

Not listed are 9 IDF soldiers killed during the ground operation against Hamas terror in Gaza (27 Dec 2008 - 18 Jan 2009).

Yep, definitely a Liberals fault you're clinically insane.

Even if that were true, wouldn't it be better than being clinically stupid?

After all we have made advancements in mental health but so far science is baffled by stupidity, there seems to be no remedy.

which parts are the illegal ones again? Just because they may have different views doesn't really mean anything

I didn't see any mention if illegality in the post. It is ok to have concerns about people and their possible intentions based on patterns that have been established through history. Nobody wants to violate the civil rights of this religion, and observing a church of this religion with a curious eye is not a violation.

so what's the point of requesting they answer questions if there's nothing illegal about their project? Are the same inquiries made about other churches/synagogues building in the area? If not the it all comes down to the fact that this is done because they are Muslim.

Let me ask you this, do you see any problems with a senior member of the mosque posting things online supporting Hamas, you know ..the terrorist group, and praising and expressing support for their cause and leadership? If not, then I guess we differ there my friend.

what exactly is wrong about it? I may not agree with his views but I'm not sure I want him silenced or persecuted for them

615vol and gsvol took their talking points straight from Eric Allen Bell and Kevin Fisher. Good to see people can think for themselves.

When people who attend churches and/or synagogues start flying planes into our buildings and killing thousands of Americans in the name of their god then I will say there should be inquiries.

:hi:By the way, just so there is some semblence of accuracy somewhere on this page, ONE member of the ICM was reported to have posted pictures of Hamas leaders and guns, etc. on his myspace page. gs and 615 neglected to mention that the member, Mossad Rowash, was also suspended from the board at the ICM following the accusations of Hamas support coming to light

so the people attending this mosque were responsible for that or do you just assign guilt by (very flimsy) association?

If they are "good" muslims then they are ok and accept acts of terror in the name of their "religion"
