hmm, its kind of our head coach's fault with calling out tee at the press conference. maybe tee wanted to at least give an appearance, but yeah, it isnt great for the university how we were turned down in public by one of our own.

hopefully, tee martin had good thoughts about ut, and he really thought about coming and made his decision for himself and his career (and i dont mean weaseling to get a pay raise). i dont like it, but you cant really hate the guy for that. now if we find out he did this to help recruit players away from tn or something like this, thats another story.

Heaven forbid a man puts his family above his alma mater. What will all those recruits think? How dare he care more for his wife and children than he does UT??

People need to grow up and realize the other side of this. LA affords his wife to chase her dreams. Moving to UT would most likely kill her dreams and be a lateral move with probably lesser pay for Tee. When you've put UT before your family's welfare, then you can talk, otherwise, stop being butthurt.

When Tee played here, the majority of these recruits you speak of were less than 4 years old. I doubt they really see it as anything more than a coach staying at what has been a more stable program throughout their life, instead of going to a program that hasn't been in the SEC championship game since before they were even teenagers. Believe me, it is good that we are getting mentioned, because it gives recruits some awareness of who UT is and that they are going after bigger name coaches.

Kiffin got some attention with this, which he will use to his advantage because he is smart. Tennessee also got attention with this, which fans will use to our disadvantage because they are not smart.

I think Tee talked his family into coming for a visit hoping they would like it here and they did not. If his wife is trying for a singing career Knoxville probably isn't the best place to do that I think LA is much better. We can't say he just wanted a free trip I think he came with interest and his family didn't want to move. He has to take the interest of his family into consideration and I think that is what happened.

Good luck to Tee ... but the homeland called in our hour of need, and he didn't answer. I will always remember that. He doesn't owe us anything. That's true. However, he shouldn't ever be offered a position here when we turn this around. Coming home to Tennessee wasn't the right fit when we were in our time of need, so we sure as hell shouldn't be when times are good. No hate. Just facts.

Winning tends to silence the critics. When we start winning, the peanut gallery will find another team to talk about.

As for Tee...I wasn't on the bandwagon. Vol Legend? Yes. VFL? Maybe. Great WR coach? Not so much. The best receivers at Kentucky tend to be opposing DB's, and Ray Charles could serve as the WR coach at USC. How do you "coach up" the talent they draw?

There are other, better options out there. Hopefully Butch will find one.

IT's a WR coaching position!!! The only thing ESPN is going to ramble about is how insane it is that the UT fanbase went crazy over a WR coaching position. Holy crap this is insane people.

No one will care at ESPN. They are more concerned with the Lakers slide.

But the deal is that Tee played Jones and UT to get a raise at USC. I wish him well, but hope he and Kiffin fail at USC.

What's all the hysteria about ESPN and Tee turning us down to stay at USC and concern about the fans comments. Every report I've seen on ESPN since the coaching change has been positive, even to the point they think Butch Jones can turn it around rather quickly. Everyone has different reactions to these type decisions, some even negative. It just shows that it is a passionate fanbase and nothing to lose sleep over.

There is NO such thing as NEGATIVE PUBLICITY! PUBLICITY is GREAT! U live close to my former home,Decatur. You know all the "bad" publicity Bama and AU got in 10-11 over Scam and Updyke! Recruits wanna be seen! I HAVE LIVED IN BAMA 10YRS! MOST RECENTLY AUG 11! I KNOW how NUTSO the bammers are! I know they`ve had more neg pub in my life than UT will EVER HAVE! WE NEED PUBLICITY! Tee was from Mobile(or one of them South Bammer cities),so I expected nothing good from him. He managed to not screw up too bad in 98,but he was NEVER a great qb! He was just ok. Our D,Oline,and stable of backs won us the NC! Tee just done what Cut said and handed it off. He was ok at 10-15yd passes,but NOT A GREAT QB! I am Glad he`s staying at SC with Kiff! He can sink with the fk in ship too! Go Vols! Tee nearly cost us 3 games at least. Arkansas! Just rewatch that game to see how great Tee was! I`m glad he played for us and we managed to win it all without him,but HE NEVER WOULDVE CONSIDERED UT IF THE SEC WAS WHAT IT IS TODAY! Then it was Fla and UT! period!

Tee was an average (at best) QB--and a better than average RB. Would have been great in the spread option. The talent on that team was total NFL; ,that had some players jealous of PM, and played harder for tee. There it is-----plain truth. (personal contact)
