more class from the libs part 2.

Support or non-support for the war aside, an objective person could see the possibility that the war actually saved thousands of lives.
I've only seen thousands of people die since the war started. Where you honestly worried on a day to day basis of a military attack from Iraq before the war?

You need to get out of your little bubble then.

I never said I was worried about a military attack. You claimed the war cost thousands of lives. You can't comprehend that more lives would have been taken if we were not there?

Also, as concerning military threats, I think 09/11 showed a conventional military is not needed to kill thousands of people.

Remind me again what the connection between Iraq and 9/11 was again?

How many of those would have been Americans?

Sure, because Iraq was quite the military threat. I'm confident toppling the only secular leader among our enemies in the region will prove to be a boon to peace.

Injecting ourselves there will either be a boon to peace or destruction of some theocracies. I'm fine with either.

Who cares? That isn't why we're there. If our foolish public believes that, it's their problem.

I know, I know. We just elected the emptiest suit, biggest liar of a promisemaker in our history and that should be ample proof that we're collectively stupid enough to see it that way, but that's our fault.

And expedite our economy's descent into the toilet.

Which mortgage did he default on? Which auto company did he destroy with unions? What has this dem congress done over the past two years to stem the tide?

Bush's suit is emptier than any to ever hang in a White House closet.

A republican president has to be saved from profligate spending by a democratic congress?

Kind of like our excursion into Southeast Asia was going to throttle communism?

Who made that argument? The communists weren't colocated and were much more powerful. The ME guys are all regional with loony terrorists as there force projection capability. Totally apples and oranges.

Maybe the "foolish public" believes it because the Haliburton pawns in power the last eight years continued to claim said relationship existed even on the way out the door.

He was an idiot in terms of domestic issues. No two ways about it. Regardless, his spending didn't burst this bubble. Wholesale real estate devaluation did. He didn't drive that train. Idiots willing to buy shoddy paper did.

Good to see the mistake of acting as if the Middle East is some homogeneous monolith is not limited to Bush and the rest of the Chicken Hawk Chorus.

When? How? Who was buying it?

What's Halibutton got to do with it. GWB was an idiot, but he didn't need any money from anyone.

Nobody is pretendig it's a monolith. I'm saying that herd of regional powers hates our presence there because none can do anything about. We can certainly influence decisions there like we couldn't in the past, whether our idiotic news services want to admit it or not.

The chicken hawks are simply cleaning up where the pacifist predecessors didn't have the nuts to address issues in the 90s because they were too busy turning or services into something akin to a ME power. Maybe they had a freaking Turkey like outift in mind. That way, the chickens replaced the turkeys.
