How the hell do you figure that Blagojovich is Obama's crony. Show me some damn proof, or you're a lying sheep.
On Blgojovich and the appointment for Obama's open seat in the US Senate.
Obama's spokesman Axelrod on Nov. 23, 2008:
"I know he's (Obama) talked to the governor, and there are a whole range of names, many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."
After the tapes of Blagojovich selling that seat to the highest bidder were leaked by investigators to the press.
Axelrod (Dec9, 2008) issued a statement saying:
"I was mistaken. ... They (Blagojovich and Obama)
did not then or at any time discuss the subject."
Obama refused to say whether his incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had spoken with the governor.
"Let me stop you there because it's an ongoing investigation. I think it would be inappropriate for me to, you know, remark on the situation beyond the facts that I know. And that's the fact that
I didn't discuss this issue with the governor at all." Obama said.
(even though his chief spokesman had said just the opposite only two weeks before)
Can you say,
"baaa baaa??"
Both
Obama and Blagojevich got extensive money and support from Chicago businessman Antonin "Tony" Rezko, who is now under federal indictment.
(Rezko also sold some property to Obama taking a $500,000 loss after owning it only six months.)
And Obama is close to Illinois Senate President Emil Jones, who has been the governor's staunchest legislative ally.
At least one top aide to Obama, Michael Strautmanis, previously worked for Blagojevich. Obama has appointed Strautmanis to serve as White House chief of staff to the presidential assistant for intergovernmental relations and public liaison. The Chicago native was legislative director and counsel to Blagojevich when the governor was a member of Congress and then helped Blagojevich win the governorship in 2002.
In court documents, FBI Special Agent Daniel Cain detailed several phone calls between Blagojevich and his aides that were intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps over the past month.
Blagojevich is accused of conspiring to sell or trade the vacant Senate seat for personal benefits for himself and his wife, Patti. Among his alleged desires:
a Cabinet post, placement at a private foundation in a significant position, campaign contributions or
an ambassadorship.
The cabinet post or an ambassadorship would have to include Obama in the scheme.
