Voters in Berkeley, California, soundly rejected a measure Tuesday evening that would have imposed a new tax on hundreds of buildings that have existing natural gas hookups in an effort to fight climate change and reduce emissions.

I feel sorry for the 40% of Commiefornia that voted for Trump. You would think that any of them lucky enough to own an insanely priced home, farm, etc would sell it and move to where sanity prevails at least sometimes. Never been as thankful as I now am to live in the "Bible Belt".

In fairness to CA...how much is ~2/3 of one cent gonna affect the people who live there financially? 😃

Decimal points matter. Good grief.

Elections have consequences, especially when you blindly follow CA's lead ...

From the article:

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has amended its Advanced Clean Truck regulations, which now require all vehicles over 8,500 pounds to be zero-emission vehicles. This stringent regulation will impact states like Washington, Oregon, New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, which often adopt California's emissions standards.

As a result, RV owners in these states will be unable to register diesel motorhomes that do not meet the new emission standards. This could significantly impact the RV industry, particularly for manufacturers and dealers specializing in diesel motorhomes.

Fake news- Oregon does not adopt California emissions standards, like even a little bit

Riddle me this. If we are up to, no past our eyeballs in debt, how the heck can we be considered rich? I do agree with you on this

Good to see we agree on this. Its like our family home is triple mortgaged and we are up to our ears in credit card debt....and the globalists think we should stand on the street corner handing out $100 Benjamins to everyone that walks by.

Charity starts at home. I am all for helping those in need, through your local church pantry is a great way...they let the poor folks from the neighborhood AND churchmembers who may have lost their job etc come "grocery shop" in the church pantry for free. The pantry is stocked by church members who donate canned goods, mac n cheese, spaghetti sauce and noodles, and other staples year round as part of their worship. This is where "the rubber meets the road". The work sorting, stocking, identifying those in need, giving rides to come get food etc is also all unpaid volunteers. That is charity.

The government, if they should be involved in charity at all; should be the same. It starts at home. Locally, state, etc. As long as there are veterans, children, elderly, and whole families here in the US that are undernourished because they cant afford enough food (and there are millions sadly) we shouldnt be giving a dime away to other countries halfway across the world. Lets take care of Americans first...and work our way out to the rest of the world as finances allow. Sadly we have a lot of the exact opposite...like sending hundreds of Billions of dollars to Ukraine for a pointless war while we have thousands of mentally ill and homeless veterans right here who really need help. Also, the government is THE least efficient way of doing literally everything. The most overhead and least production that exists. Churches and GOOD charities are far, far better at helping those in need. Fortunately, these days we can look up charities on the web and find out what % of donations actually make it to those in need. Some "charities" are really just grifts with high paid millionaire executives and huge staffs...basically just a means to steal and launder money. Many of them are very good at what they do though, and really help those in need like St. Judes.
