There are too many people on the planet. Between covid and this, its the beginning of a malthusian nightmare.

Nice knowing you. If the heat doesn't get you, the rising ocean will.https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/05/world/hottest-day-world-climate-el-nino-intl/index.html

Lol what do you base the “too many people on the planet” claim on?
As populations have increased, quality of life has only went up
Shocking. Lobbyists work for whoever is paying the bills. How is this news?Headline from today's Guardian:
‘Double agents’: fossil-fuel lobbyists work for US groups trying to fight climate crisis
More than 1,500 lobbyists in the US are working on behalf of fossil-fuel companies while at the same time representing hundreds of liberal-run cities, universities, technology companies and environmental groups that say they are tackling the climate crisis, the Guardian can reveal.
Lobbyists for oil, gas and coal interests are also employed by a vast sweep of institutions, ranging from the city governments of Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia; tech giants such as Apple and Google; more than 150 universities; some of the country’s leading environmental groups – and even ski resorts seeing their snow melted by global heating.
The breadth of fossil fuel lobbyists’ work for other clients is captured in a new database of their lobbying interests which was published online on Wednesday.
How about environmental destruction--which has been happening on a massive scale for decades. The Amazon rainforest slowly disappearing. Animal habitat steadily disappearing. Animal species disappearing. Just saw this: "The 2022 U.S. State of the Birds report shows plummeting bird populations across almost all habitats while highlighting the need for further conservation efforts." Ever seen a wide, distant shot of Phoenix---a huge number of people living in what used to be a desert? Water shortages in the West are going to be a huge problem going forward--already is a major problem.
And that's just the U.S. China and India are grossly overpopulated. India is grossly polluted. And let's throw in all the industry and economic activity associated with 9 billion people. And the poverty--which is a big reason why vast numbers of migrants want to move from their countries to the Western countries.
I'm intrigued. Why is the world's hottest/coldest temperatures coincide with summer and winter in the northern hemisphere? The Lowest temperatures were about 1979/1980. Wasn't this about the time the US started to lean heavy with the EPA? Seems to me that we've done it all wrong, let's go back to the environmental standards of the early 70's... you know, burn more coal.
Based on recent track record, I think the fossil-fuel industry should be more concerned that their lobbyists are working for liberal run cities.Headline from today's Guardian:
