Obviously, but the 9 years before the year you mentioned there had been no real rise in temperatures. My point is that we don't control the climate (unless we maybe set off 1000 nukes or something...and that would still be temporary), and it is very arrogant to think that we do.

No we don't control climate, there's no switch to adjust earth's temperature. What we are doing is rapidly fing it up for future generations. I'm no scientist, but I can remember heavy snows in knoxville annually, ponds frozen over for days. Not anymore!
