I've seen a lot of heart over the last 15 years. I saw a lot of heart when Tennessee won at Auburn a few years ago. I saw heart when Tennessee played Alabama to a near stand-still in 2009. I saw heart when Tennessee rallied to beat Indiana in that bowl game a few years back.

Heart is not the issue. Heart has never been the issue.

IT cost themselves the game by allowing Milton to squander several opportunities in the first quarter and then totaling all those penalties. They didn’t give up, but by no sense of the word did they play a good game. The potential is there, but unfortunately not close.

There were games early on in the Jone's era that the players showed a lot of heart. But, some kinda funk took hold.

It's easier for the legion of the miserable to be grumpy bastards than admit that there were some positives in this game. It sucks to lose but there were some bright spots.

Not to mention, we played most of the game without our starting QB and the whole game without our starting RB. Jalin Hyatt getting hurt in the first quarter put our best three skill-position players on the bench!

What were your expectations of this season. I expected us to suck.

I expected us to beat Pitt handily. Why? Because we have more talent. I didn’t expect us to almost set a record for penalties. I didn’t expect Milton to stay in that long when he clearly has zero QB talent. I expected a better team than what I saw today.

I'd call a touchdown a close game. If Hooker doesn't throw that pick the game goes down to the final minutes. We played well.

We shouldn't have been in this game at all with the turnovers and all the penalties. The fact that we were tells us that this team is playing hard something that we have been missing for years. Once we get a team with max scholarships I think we will do just fine.
