More Important Win: Florida or Bama?

It was the then-Golden Boy. All us outsiders were telling you what an absolute douche he was, but you wouldn't listen.

Be nice now...He might be your next head coach when Muschamp gets his pink slip :eek:lol:

Tennessee has a decided advantage at WR.

UF has a big edge in the trenches.

NO SIREEE BOYS...Fla doesn't have a decided edge in the trenches--well, at least on the offensive side of the ball. You guys have a make-shift OL who got the crap beat out of them last year....and just how have they gotten any better?

DL? Ok....I'll give you that one--but you better have your hats screwed on tight because this year our D is gonna surprise some folks...and our OL should be better EVERYWHERE across the board except at RT....

You can talk all you want about your advantages.....but that still got you a 4-8 season last year AND A LOSS to Georgia Southern at home...

Please tell me again how the CHUMP IS AN ELITE HEAD COACH? HE AIN'T!!! And he went 11-2 with another coach's recruits and that heavy OC who is coaching somewhere else.

Like I said before--we are gonna have a very young team who is extremely hungry and we WILL beat your butts this year......face it--your program is going downhill.....

And I won't waste time attempting to argue about your pathetic QBs.....Driscoll won't survive Bama....

IF you truly read all of my post--I did say that this game is more important because CBJ MUST PROVE that he can out-coach a mediocre coach at one of the SEC's BIG BOY programs....:salute:

While beating the Tide would be a huge upset, I like beating the Gators more! The Dawgs have always given the Gators problems and the Gamecocks have gotten stronger. Prior to that the SEC East crown went through the Gators. Beating them is better. Beating the Gators and pulling off one upset might be the difference in 5-7 and 7-5.

UF suffered season-ending injuries to several OL starters last year after we played each other. We get those starters back, so our OL will be better.

This place was raving about UT's OL around this time last year, but you're telling us the 2014 version will be better in your opinion, in spite of breaking in new starters at just about every position. Alrighty then...

And yes, Florida lost to Georgia Southern at home. Not sure what it has to do with our game in October. It certainly had no bearing on our game last year.

As for Muschamp, I missed where anyone suggested he was an elite coach. He's far from it.

I agree with you about Driskel. He's injury prone, and Bama's ended his season back in 2011.

I like your optimism...for a second there I thought it was 2012 again.

Well, my point about the chump was that he couldn't get it done against Georgia Southern at home.

My point about your O-line is that they couldn't keep us off your QB last year when they were healthy, and you've lost both guards and a center. And, we gonna bring the heat all game long in our house with guys who have gotten bigger and stronger. It's gonna be hard to throw the ball from he ground!

I know that you had a lot of injuries last year--but where was that vaunted Fla depth? You guys haven't been on probation, nor have you had an inordinate amount of coaching change--what explains it?

You have a CHUMP at HC--who everyone knows is mediocre at best. This will be his LAST season at Fla...

And, I for one, was NEVER on the bandwagon as thinking our OL last year was good. James, our RT, was very good, but the rest were underachievers who never lived up to the hype. And we still moved the ball decently against you guys....and we did a better job in the second half...

Our OL will be young, but hungry. Why do I think they will be better? ATTITUDE, for one....and teams wlll not be able to stack the box with 8-9 and dare us to beat them throwing this year. We just have too many weapons to make big plays on the perimeter and down the field. We didn't have that last year.

You guys basically made 2 big plays against us in your house last year and managed to squeak out a win. Things gonna be different this year in Knoxville.

Our guys believe they can win....Our guys have a new coach who instills faith and a refusal to QUIT.

And, we have improved our SPEED on both sides of the ball. The 2 big plays we gave up at home in '12 were nothing but speed related. WE've evened up that part of the game.

And, you can put me on record as predicting that the Gators will give up at least 2 big turnovers against us this year in Neyland.

Once again, you can rage against the dying of the Gator program, but it ain't gonna change....best for you this year will be 7-5....but 6-6 will signal the end for the chump.

Happy trails....

GO VOLS! :salute:

Really than bet the car you drive if your that confident that the vols don't beat the gators in the 2014 season.

Gators
This is to the vols what patriots is to the jets, ravens to the steelers, colts to the titans, chiefs to the broncos, etc.

It was Jones first year last season but still horrid to not just lose 9 straight to the gators but also to a horrid 4-8 gators team which finished in the very far low half of multiple statistical categories.

It's Jones second year need to show that he can get the vols out of the mud vs the damn gators who have been a bane in 9 games.
Plus it'll get it out of the players heads, fans and others we don't to keep waiting until next year to end the damn streak.
This would be a momentum booster I believe that we can end other streaks. Not saying Alabama but beat gators Wouldn't be shocked to see them also end the streak vs vandy.

The Gators low in multiple statistical categories were all on offense but the Gators still had a top 10 defense last season. The Gators will still have a good "D" and if Roper can jump start the "O" than the Gators will be in good shape.

There are many reason why the Gators went 4-8 but injuries probably were a major factor. Now there's no excuse to losing to GA. So. even if the Gators were starting a freshman 3rd string QB.

The biggest thing that TN will need to be competitive would be having the lines to gel and play well. It's no secret that football in the SEC is won upfront.

And, we gonna bring the heat all game long in our house with guys who have "gotten bigger and stronger." It's gonna be hard to throw the ball from he ground!

:

I'm not sure how you know those things???? Most teams believe they can win until the season starts...... :ermm:

The worst thing a UT fan can hope for is the firing of Will Muschamp.

If we beat Florida this year we will beat BAMA this year as well. That's how it usually works out.

Everyone answering Bammer knows what's going on. We're not talking east or west or this or that. We're talkin' Bammer. Vols, Just Do It.

I'm late to the party, but I have to say Florida. It would give us a leg up in the east, and it would snap a 9 game losing skid. It would put us in a really good position to make a statement. Beating Bama might only accomplish keeping them from the playoffs, which is sweet, but not as good for our program, IMO.
