More Important Win: Florida or Bama?

UF for the division win, and then we get to meet AL again in the SEC Championship game and beat their a$$ to win the SEC!

It was the then-Golden Boy. All us outsiders were telling you what an absolute douche he was, but you wouldn't listen.

Kinda like how everyone tells you the same about your hero in the politics forum and you never listen?

Even us "realist" fans want to murder every team that comes along. The difference is we have cognitive skills that allow us to see facts not delusions of grandeur. For you simple minded folk that mean we use our damn brains!

If you enter a contest thinking you will not win, YOU WILL NOT WIN.

As for brains, I have earned three college diplomas in my lifetime so my cognitive skills are firmly intact and, I would be glad to match brain power with you anytime.

More than brains I would match balls. You would conceed a victory before the season even begins! You would have to drag my bloody corpse off the field before I would surrender without one hell of a fight.:boxing2:

"Tobybeast" my azz. I guess they don't make "beasts" like they used to.:mf_surrender:

I agree that the division isn't really in play for this year. Still an early season win against UF (or UGA the week before) would do wonders for this team's confidence. OTOH three straight early season losses could be extremely deflating to morale.

I may have changed my opinion a bit. We need some early success for the young players. They should not become accustomed to losing.

Beating Bama will ALWAYS be the standard measure for our program for the traditionalists because of their tradition of winning...and I will ALWAYS take a win against them....but 2014 isn't a realistic year to expect a victory over them.

However, for 2014--we MUST BEAT FLORIDA for CBJ to continue to have credibility in recruiting--and this is only my opinion.

Here's why:

1. Florida's talent level isn't what it has been in the past...

2. We MUST be able to make big plays and stop their big plays...Their big plays have killed us over the past 3 years when the game was within our grasp!

2. Muschamp is DEFINITELY NOT an elite coach....CBJ needs to beat him and PROVE that he can out-coach the chump....

3. We play them at home...and a LOT of very important recruits will be carefully watching this game...a WIN should convince them that CBJ isn't just a good talker--BUT that HE can actually get it DONE against one of the SEC EAST big boys....

4. They were 4-8; 2-4 against the SEC East; and were 0-4 against top 25 teams last year--and they still beat us. Losing at home to them this year would be a devastating blow to CBJ's credibility....

Just my opinion.....but we should be at least 3-2 or--best case--4-1 after the Gator game....a loss to the Gators would put us 2-3 with our toughest games ahead....Winning against them would--in my mind--put us "over the hump" and really convince some folks that the rumblings in Knoxville are for REAL instead of just homerish talk....

GO VOLS! :salute:

That tells it all.... ^^^^^^^^^^^

Muschamp not a good coach would not be a true fact considering that he went 11-2 in the SEC and one game from playing for the N/C. Comparing CBJ and Champ are like comparing apples and oranges. CBJ has only won in the pee-wee leagues.... :eek:lol:

Also FL has better talent than UT....

QB.... Yes
RB..... Yes
WR.... Toss up
TE..... Yes
OL..... Yes
DL..... Yes
LB..... No
DB.... Yes

Think FL has the edge..... :hi:

When each position was ranked in the SEC the last few months, FL was in the middle of the pack and TN was near the bottom....... :clapping:

Tennessee has a decided advantage at WR.

UF has a big edge in the trenches.

WRs are close .... Malone went against UTs "D" in the spring game..... :) He could be the X-factor but no one really knows..... Robinson and North X each other out. The rest are young and toss ups on the team besides "Pig". IF FL uses their WRs correctly than with Dubose coming back it's a toss up.... :eek:hmy:

Robinson has done nothing on the field to conclude he's on the same planet as Marquez North.

Debose had 5 catches for 15 yards in 2012, and got benched in favor of Solomon Patton. Wake me up when he lives up to his 5 stars.

FL will wax UT as they always do. Seriously, Florida could forget to show up and we would find a way to lose by 3 TDs

I'd rather beat Alabama, but think Florida is more important because it is a division game. If we could handle them and Georgia then take down Ky., Vandy, Missouri were actually right there for the East title.

Neither.... Not going to happen. Might want to start by beating Vandy..... :)

Really than bet the car you drive if your that confident that the vols don't beat the gators in the 2014 season.

Gators
This is to the vols what patriots is to the jets, ravens to the steelers, colts to the titans, chiefs to the broncos, etc.

It was Jones first year last season but still horrid to not just lose 9 straight to the gators but also to a horrid 4-8 gators team which finished in the very far low half of multiple statistical categories.

It's Jones second year need to show that he can get the vols out of the mud vs the damn gators who have been a bane in 9 games.
Plus it'll get it out of the players heads, fans and others we don't to keep waiting until next year to end the damn streak.
This would be a momentum booster I believe that we can end other streaks. Not saying Alabama but beat gators Wouldn't be shocked to see them also end the streak vs vandy.

Florida, they're ripe for the picking. Muschamp azz is on fire sitting in that hot seat. Now is the time. (plus its an east division opponent)
