These people can't understand the simple concept that a symbol cannot be divisive. Only the people using the symbol can.
I responded to your "expirement" request in the passage you quoted. Did you actually read what I said? It's possible, depending on how old you are that you have been to more Chinese restaurants in Tennessee than I have ... but at various times I have lived in east Tennessee (Knoxville) and west Tennessee (Collierville). I have been to more Chinese restaurants than I can remember ... and I have never seen a swastika flag on display.
Now, let's conduct that experiment that I was referring to.
I don't think that there is a sports message board site on the internet, where a member could use a swastika as an avatar without being instructed to remove it on penalty of banishment - VolNation being among them. I could be wrong, so let's test it. Change your avatar to a swastika and let's see if Freak allows you to keep it. Keeping in mind, of course, that I would immediately bring it to his attention. You won't do it, because you know damn well that I'm right and he would tell you to take it down.

Clockwork. Every election cycle the left wants to go EC
A few things.
One, this isn't a general election cycle, so the EC isn't in play.
Two, I've been pointing out how Republican's are getting screwed by the winner take all system in some states, especially in California and in swing states.
Three, I haven't bee railing against the EC, it serves a purpose - I've been pointing out how the EC could be improved.
Try to pay attention.
Not against your idea....but do you find it odd that republicans still fight for the EC even though as you said they benefit less from it, yet the Dems try to change something that clearly benefits them. Why do you that is?A few things.

You think it has anything to do with being loyal to the constitution? No I don't find it odd. I suspect the ones who want to keep the status quo believe the system works, even though I've objectively pointed out how it's flawed. They fear and focus on the potential outcomes, not that what I've stated is true.

Makes sense...usually when people what changes made it's to benefit themselves or thier side... rarely people want changes for the benefit of all...it human nature....I think many are happy with the status quo of the EC...I like Hogs idea of the districts vote being what give the states EC votes. Seem more like what out FF were after..I doubt it. I think people trot out Constitutional conservatism when it's expedient and then shelve it when it's not. Given how some supported and still believe that the last election should be overturned based on facebook memes and twitter proclamations - sorry, I don't give much merit for those that try to wrap themselves in the "Constitution" when it comes to other matters.
Nonetheless, the Constitution has the ability to be amended and is a living document.
I don't believe that my wants will ever come to fruition, really - I just bring it up to see who can poke holes in my logic with something more substantial than shouts of "libtard and uR sTOoPId"
The swastika is now synonymous with the Nazi Party and its ideology of white supremacy, intolerance, antisemitism, hate and fascism. The Nazis coopted the symbol, and that resulted in the bastardization of it. PERIOD.You need to clarify your argument. My understanding was you were claiming that the swastika, in and of itself, has become taboo because of its use in Nazi symbolism. Is that not correct and you are really only talking about Nazi symbols as referenced in this comment about not having seen a swastika flag on display? Because it is two different things.
I have never seen Nazi flags or Nazi symbolism in a Chinese restaurant. However, I have seen lots of swastikas and would hazard a guess, if you have been in as many of those as you claim (and I have no reason to doubt you on that), that you simply did not notice them. I can take you to at least one where you cannot walk in to be seated without walking by hundreds of swastikas that are part of the lobby partition (if I recall correctly).
Yes, I agree that indiscrimate display of Nazi symbols is not a particularly good idea, but then again i also would have thought equating surburban women to roaches was a particularly bad idea as well. But the argument that swastika display is equated to Nazism, I think we have combined to disprove as I suspect (cannot prove mind you) you have walked right by them without noticing.
But yet, you have not noticed it in Chinese restaurants, Chinese restaurants are not being boycotted.
