More leftist lunacy

You would be in the minority on that.

The swastika is universally seen as a symbol of hate, oppression, intolerance and fascism. There association between the swastika and the Nazi Party became too well-ingrained during World War II for anyone to claim that "the symbol means nothing." Do you think a Holocaust survivor would agree with you that the swastika means nothing?

You seem like someone who has too much pride to admit when he is wrong, and in this case ... you definitely are.

Too much pride? LOL no.

I'm just incredibility hard to offend because I learned a long time ago to NGAF what the masses think. One of my wife's partners (Jewish, they are all Jewish) has one of the best Nazi swag collections I have ever seen in person. His family lost several members during the holocaust.

You think the swastika has no meaning? Okay ... drive around your neighborhood for about an hour with a swastika flag hanging out of your window and then gauge the response. If you care about your reputation, you won't do it.

You guys would argue anything. You are wrong about this.

Mass stupidity isn't proof of anything other than people can be stupid.

Change your avatar to a swastika. I'm betting that @Freak would give you a warning to remove it ... but if you refused, I think he would ban you.

Fun Fact...the Communists have genocide slaughtered more people than the NAZIS..Yet it flies. Should that not be offensive?

There was a time when the ACLU would have defended an American’s right to fly the Nazi flag.

We cannot allow ourselves to be dragged back in time to a place where such dangerous expression was allowed.

You did something here which should be pointed out. You referred to a flag with the swastika symbol as being "the Nazi flag."

That demonstrates my point.

Over time, a symbol will absorb the meaning from the ideology of the people who primarily display it. The swastika is an ancient Indian symbol, which until 1933, had the connotation of "be well," or "be of good fortune." The Boy Scouts were not advocating for antisemitism when they adopted it in the early 1920's. The Nazi's bastardized the meaning of the swastika symbol by displaying it so prominently and prolifically at rallies and marches where extreme antisemitism and genocide were being promoted by leaders of the party.

Today, the swastika no longer means "be of good fortune" to anyone. There is nothing but pure hate associated with it. It has indeed, become the Nazi flag. It is ridiculous to assert that symbols have no meaning, or that symbols can't change meaning over time based on their association with the people who primarily display it.

Finally, it is not being a "girl" or being too sensitive to find offense with the public display of a swastika flag. Take a trip to Tel Aviv and walk around the city, while waving a swastika flag high in the air, if you don't think that symbols can carry any meaning. You might make it an hour before you get the crap beat out of you.

If you understand, then really what I hear you saying is that you also just don't care that millions of voters don't have their wishes recognized by the EC. If you're not in the majority, your wishes don't count. It was a tough pill for Georgia republican's to swallow in 2020 when 100% of the EC votes went to Joe, despite Trump only losing the GA electorate vote by less than half a percent.

That sounds fair?
You are not listening. I believe in our federal republican form of government where the states maintain a substantial powerful relationship relative to the Federal government. I fear mob rule far more than I do the 2020 Georgia result.

We know what the rules are. We have played by those rules for almost 250 years. Want to change it, change the rules according to the Constitution (good luck getting enough states to ratify that) or go to war.

You're are easy to offend. All I have to do is bring up the fact that you can't fire anyone you feel like, and you get butt hurt.

Chinese restaurants are full of swastikas. Not saying there hasn't been, but I have yet to hear of anyone boycotting one about it. May have complained about egg rolls, but not the swastikas.

That would obviously depend on which Chinese restaurants you are referring to. I love Chinese food. Noodle Asia in the Venetian in Las Vegas is my favorite place to eat in the whole world. I have been to dozens of Chinese restaurants in several different states and never seen a swastika flag on display. I believe what you are saying, but it's certainly not typical.

If you don't think that the swastika has been redefined as a symbol of hate? Cool. Let's conduct an experiment, shall we? Change your avatar to a swastika, and we will see how long it takes for Freak to ask you to remove it. My guess? Less than 24 hours.

I swear that some of you would argue any stupid position.

Of course symbols can carry meaning.

Take a trip to Los Angeles and walk around the Jungle, wearing a blue hat, if you don't think that symbols can carry any meaning.

... and the meaning of symbols can change over time, based on who is displaying them, how they are displaying them and where they are displaying them.

I have seen it in several here in Tennessee, but certainly not all. Read up on it and it is as you have covered it in another post.

Actually thought about it doing exactly as you suggested with the avatar, but it would only prove what Freak thinks about it, nothing more. I have a fair number of books in my library about various aspects of Nazi Germany, but mostly military histories. I could see some ignoramus making a comment, but I don't care.

It's possible, depending on how old you are that you have been to more Chinese restaurants in Tennessee than I have ... but at various times I have lived in east Tennessee (Knoxville) and west Tennessee (Collierville). I have been to more Chinese restaurants than I can remember ... and I have never seen a swastika flag on display.

Now, let's conduct that experiment that I was referring to.

I don't think that there is a sports message board site on the internet, where a member could use a swastika as an avatar without being instructed to remove it on penalty of banishment - VolNation being among them. I could be wrong, so let's test it. Change your avatar to a swastika and let's see if Freak allows you to keep it. Keeping in mind, of course, that I would immediately bring it to his attention. You won't do it, because you know damn well that I'm right and he would tell you to take it down.

Obviously. But the blue hat on its own is meaningless.
A generic object will require additional context for it to be a true symbol of something. That context can, of course, include the environment in which it is displayed.

The swastika is not a generic object, and needs no additional context. If you pass by a building with a swastika painted on it, it is safe to conclude that the person responsible for putting it there was either conveying white supremacy or anti-Semitic sentiment.

Agreed. The swastika on the side of a building would be universally construed.

My neighbor has a BLM sign displayed. If he put up a rainbow swastika, would you assume it a symbol of hate?

In the event of such a highly unlikely hypothetical scenario, I would assume that your neighbor was begging for attention. LOL.
