More out of GA that could be a big help to recruiting.

The Florida game will be the most important game for us again next year, no question about it.

I feel like our entire coaching staff should stay heavily buzzed during that game. Actually, Butch should probably be ****faced during it. You know his face is going to be purple during the entire game with all the expectations and pressure.

Evidently Pruitt and Shott got into a physical altercation. There are big shakeups coming at GA. Loosing coaches at our biggest rival for recruiting can only help

Isn't it nice to be the team that's stable for the first time in years?

Is this message board rumors or has it been reported?

What coach punched a player? Obviously you are a troll. Never happened with CBJ if that is who you are talking about

I don't think he was stating it as fact while that was how it was written. I think he was merely talking about how allegations and accusations can get out of hand rather quickly.

This is all getting interesting.

Schottenheimer has been a disaster as OC, but it sounds like Pruitt, in spite of being more successful on the field than his predecessor, has been a nightmare in other ways. Everything that has gone wrong at UGA over the past five years has been the result of bad hires on the part of Mark Richt. For whatever reason, he seems to be a really bad judge when it comes to hiring assistants these days. Either that, or he's become bad at managing his staff in general.

Even if the assistants are the problem, though, the idea of firing both the OC and DC is pretty radical. While it's not quite the same as "hiring a new head coach", it's still a pretty radical overhaul. Possible that a new staff could come in and perform well in a short period of time (see Florida this year), but it's pretty rare for that to happen.

Regardless, it might mean that Georgia's spectacular class this year could get chipped away at. Georgia is leading on a lot of players that we have been recruiting as well. Right now, we are probably 2nd or 3rd on a few big UGA recruits. It's tough to say what would happen if nearly the entire staff, except for Mark Richt, is dismissed.

It is one of those decisions where Richt has gained some equity for his past 15 years, however, the fact that he will clearly be on the hot seat with possible new coordinators will make it that much more difficult to recruit. It is difficult enough to recruit in today's environment without every other opposing coach reminding recruits that one more misstep means Richt could be fired.

If they retain Richt, they better not complain about losing certain recruits. Sometimes, it is just better long term to make a complete overhaul.

We may end up having amother top 10 class if we win out. The rumblings of UGA will surely doubt some recruits and we can snag em up. Hopefully Kyle Davis and Derrick Brown

The whole mess could turn into Pruitt trying to undermine Richt to make himself look better - just like Majors accused Fulmer of doing in 1992.

Pruitt will get his shot somewhere as a HC, but he is emotionally unstable AND has always kept ties to handlers. More like a Muschump, except he will get you on probation

So your saying once Saban's beeotch always Saban's beeotch!

we always say that a big shakeup will help us...then Florida goes and hires a Mcelwain. The UGA job is a top 10 job. They will land a big fish. Which kids will gravitate towards.
id rather choir boy stay in Athens as long as she can.

No way UGA is a top 10 job.

One of the articles mentioned very shady stuff going on behind the scenes too. I guess this would be in reference to recruiting.

Also, siap but two Georgia players have been suspended for the KY game as a result of being charged with misdemeanor possession of Marijuana.

Didn't Atlanta Vol say Davis' mom got hooked with a comfortable situation by Georgia boosters.

No way it isn't top 10. It could easily be #1 if they got the right coach and had sustained success for a while. The state put the second most guys in the NFL after Florida last year, except Georgia has one university that people actually care about.

You are 70 miles from what has become one of the biggest and best recruiting areas in the country and it's a great school in a great town.

Richt has had a warm seat for years. This year, it is pretty hot.

Go ahead... fire both the OC and the DC, and let me know what magical mystery man is going to walk into that job security, knowing that he could be out of a job in 9 months.

Not a top 10?!! Are you kidding? Gosh there are so many reasons to call it a top 5 job. Beautiful campus (imo) - check. Power 5 conference - check. Virtually no competition from other in state schools - check. Recruiting hot bed in your own backyard - check. Not many schools can say all of that!
