1 Cor 15: 51,52. Paul is revealing new information (Behold, I shew you a mystery)
Paul is bring new information to the gentiles. Jesus in Matt 24 is responding to a question about His second coming.
In Eph 2: 8,9 we are given a clear definition of salvation. Nowhere in the Bible is the rapture and its timing clearly defined. I lean toward the Pre trib but not enough to say I think there will be a Pre trib rapture.
You're right on the money with Ephesians 2:8,9.
I found another post trib verse. In 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, Paul says that those who are alive when Christ returns will be caught up together in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. This seems pretty clear to me, or am I totally missing something?
You two have lost me........
Pre trib feel, wtf does that even mean?
It means you have to read the whole book to get what is being said.
If you pick and choose vs it leads to perverse interpretation. For example, I could read the vs about if my eye causes me to sin pluck it out. Take that out of context and decide OE is making me angree and thats a sin so I have to terminate OE. That's probably not what was intended.
In context with the rest of Thessalonians these vs are a better argument for pre trib.
The book of Thes is a letter to the people of Thessalinica who were freaking out. They were living in tough times and thought that they were in the tribulation. The end of Ch 1. Describes Jesus "who rescues us from the wrath to come." Ch4 :18 says " confort one another with these words". What confort is there in "you will go threw liveng hell and most will not survive." Finaly ch 5 says it will happen will all is well. Ch5:3 "while they are saying peace and safty destruction will come." Ch 5: 9 " for God has not appointed us to Wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."
As a whole 1 Thessalonians has a pre trib feel.
Be careful to alway consider the intended audience, the question being answered and how the people of the day would have recieved the message when studying the Bible.
Chapter 5 says the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. They will say peace and safety (which at the time they were killing Christians so there was no peace and safety) then will come sudden destruction upon the believers.
BTW, I believe Billy Graham, Joel Osteen, Charles Stanley, and most of the preachers I have ever listened to in my life preach a false doctrine that is contrary to the one Jesus and the Bible teaches.
