I also wonder if we could be the first team ever to finish in the top 5 in recruiting after not qualifying for a bowl. True or not?

Texas had a losing record in 2010 and had the #3 class (according to Rivals) in 2011.

I heard a stat yesterday that to me was simply unbelievable. The Texas Longhorns have had only ONE offensive lineman drafted since 2008. I'm not talkin 1st round, I mean drafted period.

I'd like to hear from you guys what you think are some unbelievable stats from college football. Sarcasm and lame attempts at comedy are welcome.

UT is 0-2 against Vandy, 0-9 against Florida, 0-7 against Bama, 0-4 against UGA, 0-5 against the Barn, 0-2 against Mizzou, 0-4 against LSU...

Jaw dropping to say the least.

I bet UK has done better than that

Interesting stat... Lane Kiffin was responsible for the increased pollution index rating that occurred in east TN in 2010 due to the volume of mattresses that were burned and the large pile of crap he left behind.

Derrell Scott 2013: 229 carries for 2,147 yards = 9.3 YPC.

The best YPC all time (> 100 carries) in FBS is Greg Pruitt, Oklahoma 1971: 196 caries for 1,760 yards = 9.0 YPC

He will be great because high school stats translate to sec football.

Our last 2 head coaches each lost 2 games in their first year only after they had already won them, but the instant review was used to take victories away. In Dooley's case it cost us bowl victory, and in CBJ's case it cost us going to the bowl.
LSU, UNC, UGA, Vandy.

If he gets 50% of his HS YPC, he will be a great success in the SEC.

Know any other HS RBs with >9.3 YPC?

Derrick Henry avg'd 9.22 YPC as a Sr.

Jalen Hurd accomplished the following during his junior season:

◾As a junior in 2012, ran for Tennessee state-record 3,357 yards and 43 touchdowns
◾Set Tennessee state record with 294 points scored as a junior
◾Averaged 240 yards per game and 10.58 yards per carry in 2012
◾Gained more than 200 yards in nine games as a junior, including three games with at least 390 yards on the ground
◾Piled up single-game rushing totals of 451, 396 and 394 as a junior
◾Ran for Tennessee title-game records of 394 yards and seven touchdowns in 2012 championship, a 56-35 Beech win over Columbia Central
◾Led Beech to 2012 state title with a perfect 15-0 record (Jalen Hurd Bio - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics)
