UT is 0-2 against Vandy, 0-9 against Florida, 0-7 against Bama, 0-4 against UGA, 0-5 against the Barn, 0-2 against Mizzou, 0-4 against LSU...

Jaw dropping to say the least.

Ya but we own KY and last year we kicked the ole ball sac in nads and kept them out of SECCG!

The Vandy, gators and Mizzou streaks are on borrowed time. At least two of them will fall this year.

UGA & Bama prime for upsets and we will have to wait a few years for Barn/LSU.

Zero pencil whipped S&C sessions and zero hygiene incidents since CDD left.

In his thirty years as a head coach at four different schools, Mack Brown won only two conference championships.

The University of Texas football program has won only two national championships in its history, despite having by far the best resource base to use in doing so for at least 25 of the last 84 years (when the AP/UPI began crowning a "consensus" champion). One of these was achieved before 55% of its living alumni were born.

Over...
...Wait for it...
...rated.

The University of Texas plays it's home football games in a stadium named for a man who was a four year letterman and three year starter for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Our last 2 head coaches each lost 2 games in their first year only after they had already won them, but the instant review was used to take victories away. In Dooley's case it cost us bowl victory, and in CBJ's case it cost us going to the bowl.
LSU, UNC, UGA, Vandy.

Bolded the only one that should have been a win, but by rule, even that was accurate. By the rules in place at the time, each loss was correct.

And 50% of Volnation thinks we will beat all of them next year.

So you don't think our team should put their uniforms on....strap that helmet with the big orange power T on it...after practicing each week...& play to win as best as they can?

Single-season NCAA records established by the 1970 and 1971 Vols which stand to this day in the following categories:

MOST OPPONENTSÂ’ TURNOVERS
57—Tennessee, 1970 (21 fumbles recovered, 36 interceptions)

MOST YARDS GAINED ON INTERCEPTION RETURNS
782—Tennessee, 1971 (25 interceptions)

HIGHEST AVERAGE PER INTERCEPTION RETURN
(Min. 10-14 ints.) 36.3—Oregon St., 1959 (12 for 436)
(Min. 15 ints.) 31.3—Tennessee, 1971 (25 for 782)

MOST TOUCHDOWNS ON INTERCEPTION RETURNS
7—Tennessee, 1971 (25 interceptions; 287 pass attempts against)

Please note that, in the 1971 Sugar Bowl victory (34-13) over Air Force, we had an additional four fumble recoveries and four interceptions. Bowl games were not counted statistically in those days. Otherwise, our NCAA single-season record for turnovers would be 65, not 57.

LSU and Vandy should have been wins.
We got penalized vs LSU because we had 13 players but the refs did not stand over the ball like they were supposed and give us time to substitute after Miles did his crazy substitutions . And vs Vandy there is no way they had enough evidence to overturn that spot (it was called short so there had to be clear evidence and there was no way it was there). UGA game I agree - Pig did drop that ball before he reached the goal line.

Good grief...not again! The ball carrier was clearly beyond the point that was needed for a 1st down. It's called common sense, and refs are allowed to use it.

If he gets 50% of his HS YPC, he will be a great success in the SEC.

Know any other HS RBs with >9.3 YPC?

Derrick Henry avg'd 9.22 YPC as a Sr.

Iirc Troy Fleming had @ 10ypc in Nashville area. Gerald Riggs @ 10 at Red Bank also. Too lazy to look it up.

Coach Fulmer won the first BCS Championship and had the second-highest number of wins of any head coach in Tennessee history, 21 behind Robert Neyland. His 1997 and 1998 teams remain as the last teams to win consecutive SEC championships.

0-5 vs Alabama
0-4 vs UGA
0-1 vs Auburn
0-2 vs Missouri
0-1 vs LSU
0-5 vs Miss St
0-3 vs South Carolina
0-3 vs Louisville

No question about it. The refs were supposed to stand over the ball and not let LSU snap it until we had opportunity to react to their substitutions - we were not given this opportunity - go back and watch that tape again (and this was discussed back then as well, it's not like I'm the first to bring this up).

I like the way you think and it makes a good meme, but even if Pig is awarded a TD against Georgia, they were getting the ball after us. The way Murray finished regulation, there's no reason to assume we would have won that game.

Need some help - who is the reporting service for "almost won" games? I can find wins, losses, even ties but nothing about 'almost' won. Is it the NCAA or some official service? Guess I'm old school and thought a win was a win and loss a loss.

There isn't one but you do realize you are in 'jaw dropping stats' thread, don't you? So bringing up almost won games in this particular thread should not be that surprising (I would think).
