Motorcycle Thread! Post Pics, Have Discussion

OK, I take that back. Some style points do hearken back...

Checking out the specs of the latest Commando -
Engine Type: In-house developed parallel twin with dry sump lubrication. M'kay...
Valve Actuation: Push rod, hydraulic lifter, 2 valves per cylinder. M'kay...
Cooling System: Air / Oil. M'kay...
Displacement: 961 cc Whoa, Nellie!
Ignition: Crank fired electronic fuel injection and multiple 2 way catalytic converters. Euro 3 compliant. Not at all like before

Based on the Kenny Dreer designs from a few years back.

Road the new Street Twin as soon as it hit Knoxville.
What a fun bike, light as a feather with plenty of torque.
Lovely exhaust note with the new 270 crank.

I'm afraid to ride the new 120's as I would probably end up with yet another bike in the garage.

The T100 is back for 2017 with the same 900 mill from the Street Twin. I imagine we'll see the 900 in a new Scrambler as well.

Glad to hear a positive report about the Street Twin. For some reason Bham doesn't have a Triumph dealer and I can't find one in stock within 200 miles of here.

Euro's killed carburetors. EFI all the way along with catalytic converters.

Part of the reason for the water cooling on the new Triumph's too. Emissions, emissions, emissions.

Ethanol over here makes carbs a problem too. Part of the challenge of buying vintage is gummed up carbs from our current gasoline.

Yep. Pay up for the alcohol-free gasoline. Some places have begun dispensing it from a designated pump. Most use it in lawn equipment, et al. If I got a vintage street bike, it would be a fun toy. I wouldn't expect to be making road trips on it. I would fuel it accordingly. :good!:

Picked up the Suzuki today. Just what I was looking for for putting around town and taking to the beach. Fits my short, fat arse perfectly.

I expect you on a real bike within 6 months.

Either way this is doing what I want - if I get back into riding and move up this was a good way to test the waters and get my motorcycle legs back. If this does what I need it to then I'm good too.

That's why I went with the 600 (smallest bike I've owned). I hadn't rode in about 3 years.

Why do people who ride motorcycles wave at each other by pointing at the ground?

I concur it's a bit goofy, sometimes I wave sometimes not.
The two fingers down is a signal to "keep the two wheels on the ground" Shiny side up etc.

I'm sure the HD crowd thinks it means V-Twin :birgits_giggle:

Thanks.. i was in Miami late night for work and I have never seen or heard a motorcycle with Florescent underneath and blasting music.. you could hear the music at least 1 full city block away

Ha-ha, I don't get it. Reminds me of an old David Brenner line. If you like the way it smells stick it up your nose. He was referring to an overly perfumed lady on a commercial flight

Probably the first David Brenner reference on this site :)

Nice!

Just bought the first bike I've had since I was a kid.

It's a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard S50. Love it even though it's a little small. I think I want to trade up to a muscle cruiser.

Thinking of a Suzuki M90.

Got a '96 Super Glide (pic in avatar). Bought a 03 Super Glide 3 wheel conversion this summer, my wheelchair. Selling the 96 cause I can't rassle 2 wheels no more.
