The Machinist, Mysterious Skin, Lars and The Real Girl, Hard Candy, Eternal Sunshine, Half Nelson, Brick. I watched these because of certain favorite actors, they turned out to be excellent movies.

Lars and The Real Girl, is by far the hardest movie to get someone to watch. Explain the plot and people look at you crazy.

I watched a movie the other day with Adam Sandler playing the dad to Adam Sandberg from SNL. Expected nothing, but it made me laugh a few times

I Could Never Be Your Woman, pretty funny movie, that I was forced to watch. I'll admit The Notebook was pretty good. Hangover 2, only because I laughed 3 times, after barely cracking a smile at the first one.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy

I didnt go see the first one in the movies, thought it looked lame and nerdy. Now I have seen them all, and read the book multiple times.

When Sling Blade came out, I thought it looked pretty dumb. I ended up seeing it at the theater because the movie I had planned to see was sold out and some guy in line behind me recommended it.

I ended up loving that movie.

Idle Hands

Seth Green, stoner humor, and a young Jessica Alba made this movie much better than the previews let on.

O Brother Where Art Thou.

Looked like a movie about a bluegrass band, which I didn't care for at the time. But after seeing it, it became one of my all time favorites and picked up an appreciation for bluegrass.

Also, a movie with a terrible trailer that ended up awesome is Fight Club. I had no interest in seeing a movie about soap salesman. Great movie.

Picked up a movie named "The Proposition" at Target for five bucks. I was meh on an Australian western with Guy Pearce in it, but ended up really enjoying it.

A walk to remember or how to lose a guy in 10 days. I usually sleep during chick flicks but Sarah Jessica Parker reminded me of a horse in the face. I smiled. I laughed and then enjoyed it.

I thought Princess Bride was going to be a chick flick. Turned out to be one of my top 10 favorites.

Same here. I was laughing out loud during the whole movie. First time in history a black girl told a white boy to be quiet during a movie.

Loved District 9

A movie for me was The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension. Looks ridiculous but has some classic subtle humor and John Lithgow is outstanding in it. Also has Peter Weller, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum and many others you'd recognize
