Movies you would like to see redone..

As is Intolerable Cruelty if I am not mistaken, they were reeling at the time with the loss of their mother and were just directing what was thrown at them.

I like both of those movies. Intolerable Cruelty wasn't a remake. I think it's a fantastic parody of dumb romantic comedies.

A rework of the Shining would be sacrilege. That movie was perfectly creepy. You're not going to find anyone better than Jack Nicholson to play that role. Hell, I would even say Scatman Carothers (sp?) was perfect for his role.

You are correct, it isn't a remake but they didn't come up with it as they do (screenplay credit but not story credit) with their best films. I thought it and the Ladykillers were a step down for them but both better than Hail Ceasar which is their worst.

Starship Troopers minus all the silliness and Nazi imagery.

Force 10 From Navarrone. Not that the original wasn't good, but a big budget remake would be cool.

You forget they redid a classic. True Grit

No I didn't forget. Thought theirs was better. Hail Caesar tho? :pinch:

good one - the original had flashes of greatness

Windtalkers and Pearl Harbor done in an authentic SPR way, not Nicholas Cage and his never-ending 30 round magazine and gasoline explosions everywhere. Pearl Harbor is an abomination. I also thought Hacksaw Ridge was campy for similar reasons. I never saw Vince Vaughn reload his grease gun over two days. They are great stories on their own, they don't need ridiculous explosions and 100yd pistol headshots.
