Redo of The Day the Earth Stood Still would be my wish. Love Keanu in his John Wick Flicks, but this Sci-Fi classic from the 50's has to be done right. The original one in glorious B&W had Micheal Rennie as our traveling alien gave a persona of not belonging to this world and here on a mission to warn us. Imagine the kind of warning the alien would give today. Yeah not to hard to figure that one out. Still my favorite Sci-fi Classic of all time.

That doesn't mean it couldn't be made into a damm movie.
Also Commando had a similar straight forward not much of a plot which is why that is a lameass excuse for why it shouldn't be remade.

What do the Lee Brotherz do for a living.
Show them how they became great Martial Arts.
Why did they get involved in Martial Arts.
Where do they live.
How did they meet Marian, and what is so special about her other than she is a babe.
Show Wilie and his syndicate creating death and destruction.

Those are things the movie could show.

I may have said this in this thread already but a good remake would be The Running Man by actually following the book. Much bigger scale and it would be great to pull it off nowadays.

The 50 Shades of Sh** movies. Except cast the Muppets. Throw in that cockney mf’er driving the Rolls and Lady Penelope from the Thunderbirds Are Go franchise. With liberal uses of wood stain along with carpentry & upholstery tools.

The Day of the Triffids. The trees are coming. And they're justifiably pissed.

The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Costuming, makeup, and soundtrack alone could be epic if done right. Plus vengeance and sick methods of killing always draw crowds.
