Movies you've seen recently II

Watched "Unhinged" with Russell Crowe this week. 6/10. His appearance as an overweight guy was distracting, as was trying to do a Southern accent over his Australian one.

I finally watched Joker. I just didn't for a while because I just didn't think I'd like it, but I was wrong, it was great. 8/10. Very well done with how they developed the character, and phoenix done a heck of a job imo. Loved the darkness if it all.

He can play any roll. At least I haven't seen a movie where I thought he didn't do a good job.

Frances Ferguson on Amazon prime. Extremely quirky, extremely dry comedy about a small town woman who is convicted of having sex with her student. The narration (Nick Offerman) is used in a very clever way and I found the writing smart and inventive. My kind of film not for everyone. 8/10

The lady killers
2004 by the Coen Brothers. No Francis Mcdormand.
Most of the review were not very good. I haven't laughed that much in a long time.
Oddly, could beTom Hanks worst roll since his stupid TV show.
9/10.

My Octopus Teacher, as good as advertised. Such a deep feeling film about one man's bond with mother nature. He is obsessive about it but rightly so. The shots are simply amazing, I don't know how they got a lot of the shots. Learned a lot watching and it made me want to find out more. 10/10

Patty Mayonnaise and Doug!

Have to admit this made me laugh...full disclosure never really liked Citizen Kane....to me Casablanca is the perfect movie...every character every line seems spot on...no strict good and bad..just a bunch of flawed people thrown into a bad situation

Citizen Kane changed the way movies are made but it's not a good watch. Who sees that and gives a **** about the story?

I have my 4 year old granddaughter for introducing me to Paddington 2. I most likely would never have watched it if not for her.
A wonderful movie.

Watched “Calibre” tonight. It had been on my watch list for about a year. Half way through I thought all the excellent reviews were exaggerated. Movie turns on a dime real quick. Best movie I’ve seen in a long, long time. 9/10. This has probably been posted on here before since the movie is not a new release.

Watched American Psycho Too brutal for me. 4/10

Watched Sisters Brothers. Big stars. Could have been a great movie, but at least 50% was filmed in the dark. Yuk! Couldn't even see the picture. Is this a trend thing.?? 3/10.

The American Psycho novel is one of the best books of the last 50 years. The movie was well executed but...not Bret Easton Ellis' best adaptation. That would be Rules of Attraction. Vastly underrated movie.

Captain Fantastic 8/10 Netflix Viggo Mortensen and the kid from 1917 Story of father raising children in Washington state wilderness...different....thought provoking...I'm probably 180 from their politics...they celebrate Noam Chomsky day...but still felt compassion for them and understood their decision to leave the real world to build their own utopia Captain Fantastic (2016) - IMDb
