Movies you've seen recently II

Plane. Yep. He was great in that. ENjoyed it greatly. Not quite Law Abiding Citizen, but still quite good.

Law Abiding Citizen was the whole let’s understand why this good man becomes a calculating villain which is fine greatly because he saw a predatory egregious action.

The 2 movies I’ll be writing spoiler free reviews of are Young Guns, and (1987) Adventures in Babysitting.

An unofficial (1991) Born to Ride DVD is available for me to buy because Warner Brothers I doubt could provide a strong reason to justify why this underrated great action movie doesn’t get an official DVD release.
It’s a great action movie with protagonists riding motorcycles including John Stamos playing a badass daredevil valiant protagonist that is a great Motorcyclist.

The shown poster is entirely accurate because John Stamos as Grady plays a badass protagonist that isn’t inside the square playing by the rules, Grady does ride the exact same shown Motorcycle, he is shown riding the Motorcycle for multiple scenes, and the Motorcycle clothes he does wear in this great underrated action movie.
So in other words like Guyver Dark Hero, Blade, Cobra, (1987) Robocop, Escape From New York this is a movie that lives up to the great looking poster instead of a movie that fails to be as great as the poster which includes that abysmal (2011) Green Lantern movie.

Hottest guy to ever live

Law Abiding Citizen. It never gets old. A shame Hollywood seem incapable of making decent movies anymore.

I’ll say it’s an embarrassment that Hollywood has reduced making original movie soundtracks since that was highly common in the 80s, and the 90s.

Also highly frustrating they haven’t remade Double Dragon with a very faithful version made for fans based on the Double Dragon arcade game.
Set in a post apocalyptic New York City like Escape From New York, also a Rated R hardcore violent serious Science Fiction post apocalyptic action similar to Mad Max except with 2 badass protagonists that need to rescue Marian from Willy the leader of the Black Warriors.

A similar style movie was made with Streets of Fire which does have a plot so any claim that Double Dragon can’t be made a movie with a plot is extremely wrong by 10 trillion miles.

Since Hollywood has decided to actually improve not great movies with remakes including (2023) Super Mario Brothers which most likely will be a highly faithful adaptation made for the fans , The Last House On The Left, IT, Dredd, also Doom Annihilation, etc are all reasons I’m very frustrated Hollywood has not made a great quality faithful hardcore Rated R serious Double Dragon movie.

Shown below are 2 Cosplayers as Billy Lee (Blue Outfit) And Jimmy Lee (Red Outfit) both wearing the same exact style outfits that Billy and Jimmy wear in the Double Dragon arcade game.
If a faithful great quality Double Dragon Rated R movie ever got made for the fans then this is a preview of the Lee Brothers.

Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama 2
Negative 12 out of 10

I love the first in all it's horrible badness, and wanted a sequel 30 years ago. Yes this is a sequel to a 30+ year old movie and it can go **** itself.

Love On A Leash

7/10 good/bad

A love story for the ages about a knotty girl that wants love, and instead finds a dog that wants to be her special good boy.

So I assume like CaddyShack 2 it’s an unneeded embarrassment that greatly missed the high bar of the 1st movie.

I just watched Babylon on Paramount Plus. Great cast, with a high level of energy, but it tries to do too much. If a movie is going to be 3 hours long, it needs to be focused ... I found it hard to stay interested in it - with over an hour still to go.

5/10

I wouldnt say high bar of the first, it's pretty trash, but it's fun dumb trash.

Ok so it’s painful trash to watch, while the 1st movie achieved the entertaining area of being a fun trash movie because it’s entertaining.

Samurai Cop was an unintentional terrible movie that is a poor man’s Lethal Weapon, and it’s freakin obvious when 1 actor is wearing a terrible quality wig.
It’s an entertaining embarrassment because the aim was to make a great quality movie instead they missed the mark much like 50 Cent aka Curtis Jackson greatly missed home plate when he threw a pitch at a Mets Home game.

Samurai Cop 2 was an example that it doesn’t work when the intention to recreate an intentional terrible movie because the entertaining embarrassment that is Samurai Cop happened because it greatly backfired since the director aimed high to make something as great as the terrific action movie El Mariachi which greatly backfired in the best ways possible because Samurai Cop is the memorable embarrassment that can forever be known as the Poor Man’s Lethal Weapon.

Heresy.

If you are only a casual viewer of classic cinema, you probably think of the all time greatest scene as being from Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane, On the Waterfront, A Streetcar Named Desire or The Godfather .... but no, it's this :

Stuckmann reviewed the movie on his Hilarocity movie review series, and it was reviewed on Second Class Cinema.

Also the name of the movie is very misleading because most of the damn movie a protagonist is not using the samurai sword, and the cover is outright lying because the movie does not show a badass protagonist using a samurai sword to cut off the head of a bad guy.

So the cover is the same level of lying as Friday the 13th Jason Takes Manhattan because Jason is strolling through Manhattan not taking over Manhattan, most of the movie is not Jason in Manhattan instead most of the movie is on a ship, Also most of the damn movie was filmed in Canada not New York City.

Copenhagen, 2015, Netflix, 8/10 RT gave it 90%.
Good entertaining movie. Brings back memories of Copenhagen for me so maybe I'm prejudice. A beautiful city, but watch for bicycles.

It was good. Kept me entertained and the last 30-45 minutes were really cool.

I’m pretty damn happy this is Hollywood making an original soundtrack even though it’s reusing a song from the 1st movie.
Also because it has continuity from the 1st movie, and it stands on its own even with reusing aspects from the first movie.

It’s not Die Hard 2, Home Alone 2, Escape From LA, which are uncreative sequels that are mostly the same plot as the 1st movie except in a different location which is not enough for the sequel to stand on its own.

Lol I was literally about to make the same post.

Actually I'm going to drop this to 4/10.

The film doesn't know what it wants to be, and is trying WAY TOO HARD to be edgy and tries too hard to be absurdly funny. Almost every character annoys me. Almost every scene ends up being everyone screaming and cursing and even after just an hour and a half it got REALLY old. Margot Robbie's character got super annoying quickly. Even Brad PItt's character annoyed me. The only character I even liked was the main guy Manny. And I know characters were supposed to be annoying to an extent but for 3 hours....it's not entertaining. I can totally see why this bombed so badly.

I was trying to think of something to compare it too, and this is the perfect comparison. I love Samurai Cop it's an all time great good/bad, and 2 is just painful and not in a fun way.

Infinity Pool 6/10 Great imagery, creepy and I always enjoy Alexander Skarsgaard and Mia Goth oozes sexiness and crazy. There is a huge suspension of disbelief to get past and the ending is kinda terrible but hey, probably worth a watch if you are a Cronenberg fan (His son directed.)
