Movies you've seen recently II

My son and I streamed KOTFM last night (and today). It was very well done, definitely Scorcese style, gut-wrenching, some unexpected twists, and L O N G.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor among thieves. 8/10

I'm surprised it didn't get talked about more. Characters were superb. True to DnD classes lore ect. I loved trying to figure out what alignment each was. The humor was very well done. Great story, with character development and backstory. CGI was top notch, scenery was great. This movie was fantastic. I think having the title as Dungeons & Dragons turned away a lot people who would have enjoyed it. I kinda did, I thought it was just a cash grab, especially since the cast didn't seem to fit, but they all do. This movie is great. I will watch again. Probably multiple times. I hope they make several. There wasn't a chaotic evil character, so hopefully there is a sequel planned. Anyone who enjoys medieval fantasy will love this movie.

It's currently on Amazon Prime. Watch it.

Rebel Moon Part 1: 4/10. Not one original thought out of the mind of Zach Snyder. Bland color palette. Cliche slow motion action scenes. Still, I find myself looking forward to Part 2.

Krampus - 6/10. I finally got to see it. I liked it but have no interest in seeing it again.

Merry Friggin Christmas- 2/10. Outstanding cast can’t redeem a formulaic plot and crappy writing.

Violent Night - 6/10. Not as good as Fat Man and David Harbour’s Santa isn’t very likeable until he’s finally had enough.

Finestkind - it wasn't a great movie, but I really enjoyed it. I like Ben Foster and Tommy Lee Jones was a good choice good for his character. It's worth a watch.

Iron Claw 3/10. Was terribly miscast. How do you portray an Olympic discus athlete with a 5’-7” 150 lb actor? The main professional wrestling character with a 5’-8” actor. Overall, the story of family tragedy was interesting. The semi glorification of suicide was personally disturbing to me and IMO very irresponsible.

50/50 excellent movie 9/10. The only negative was Seth Rogan as the best friend who actually did a decent job with the role, but I just find him and his voice to be unpalatable to me. Plot is a young adult gets cancer and it follows him through the treatment also reflecting on how it impacts his family / friends. Anna Kendrick was excellent as the young therapist as was Anjelica Houston as the mother. Is only on Amizon Prime for a couple days more

i watched that too. it was ok, Tommy Lee Jones makes most movies better. it seemed to go by fast, i was hoping there was more of a story plot but it wasn't bad.

Oppenheimer. Good if you can pay close attention, but walk away for 30 seconds and you’ll miss too much to be able to catch up.

Wouldn’t watch again, but not upset about paying $5 to rent it either.

Agree, I’m glad we didn’t go to the theater to see it.

I’ve heard this sever times. Is it any good? Never hear that.

We were in it for sure, but it didn't totally work for me in the end, and there are a few vile parts that would be deal-breakers for a lot of people here. I'm glad I watched it, but doubtful I'll ever see it again.

It's definitely dividing people between loved it and hated it and my wife and I are in the middle of this thing that seems to have no middle ground.

So I should watch it?

Hey, I just finished a show called Snowfall. I asked 95 if he'd seen it and he hasn't. You ever heard of it?

I liked Snowfall a lot. Uncle Jerome is an all-time TV character, IMO.

I will never know if you should watch something but I would tell most people don't watch Saltburn. I would tell people like Newt to watch it. 😄

Jerome and Leon were my 2 favorites. I thoroughly enjoyed that show. I could have done with a couple of thousand less Mfrs and N words, but yeah, I really liked it too.

I was kidding. I was thinking about trying it, but after your post I think I'll skip it.
