Movies you've seen recently II

I know I'm embarrassingly late on this one, it's just one of those I always wanted to watch but never got around to it but.... Interstellar. Wow. What a ride.

My daughter's and my favorite movie. Amazing cast, story, etc. Not lost on me that a man's love for his daughter (and hers too) basically saves humanity as we know it. Love the science/physics/theory involved as well. Great movie. I think it is aging well also.

The Sure Thing - An fun romance story with a bunch of young actors in the 80’s who later became fairly successful. Directed by Rob Reiner. It’s free streaming on YouTube 8/10.

I have seen poorly made movies that failed greatly to live up to their epic potential to be well made and incredible.

I’ll post detailed reviews of the very poorly made (2011) Green Lantern that hugely failed to be incredible despite realistic great potential including have a big budget so can’t use the it had a low budget excuse for the very terrible looking CGI including the very thin stupid looking CGI mask that Hal Jordan wears that resembles face paint humans can pay for cheaply at a Carnival or a Halloween Costumes store, also the very unfaithful Double Dragon movie that is far off being a faithful adaptation along with making the Streets Of Fire movie look very epic because that Walter Hill directed action movie is far closer to a faithful Double Dragon movie including badass action scenes, a fleshed out female protagonist that is kidnapped which is equal to what the Double Dragon arcade game uses, a dangerous dystopian world, a badass protagonist that shows off his smooth combat skills in multiple action scenes, terrifying antagonists, a consistent dark tone with high stakes, etc.

Sinners – 7/10
The movie starts off a bit slow as it builds the plot, but the pacing overall was solid. I’ve got a few questions about it, though I’ll keep them to myself to avoid spoilers. My wife wasn’t a fan, but I thought it was a good watch overall.

I'm hearing 10/10 from everyone and you say 7/10 with commentary that indicates 10/10. Why only a 7?
Was a short movie around 90 minutes yet little to no time was spent introducing the characters nor building the story of the military mission. A few minutes of the group in the barracks watching some video then they’re sneaking down the streets at night to their watch point and bam the action starts. I’m not a veteran, but it’s easy to believe the events were accurately depicted and realistic. To me, it would have been better if I’d known more about what exactly they were trying to accomplish and been introduced to the Seals individually before the action. I’d encourage folks to watch it.
