Mr. Knecht

Feel bad for the guy. Poured everything he had into this game. Let's hope the injury isn't serious
He carried us—what a grab by Barnes to get him here. Announcers saying 1st round NBA and this kid was at N. Colorado this time last year. He’s just crafty as heck. Glad he’s in Orange and good thing it’s the holidays/early in the season. No need to rush him back. Looks just like a sprain. A month type deal hopefully. Kid has been pushing himself hard and it’s really impressive.

I did the same exact thing playing and my ankle turned black within 10 minutes. I was on crutches for a few days and back to playing. Hopefully there isnt a tear or break.

Tennessee's Dalton Knecht has tied the Smith Center scoring record by an opponent with 37 points (set originally by LaSalle's Lionel Simmons in 1988).

In the 1988 game, Lasalle was defeated as well.
I think he tied the record for a NON-CONFERENCE opponent in the Dean Dome. Still an incredibly special performance.

Good grief! I'm not a doctor but I have broken the fifth metatarsal on my right foot before. I was running and turned my ankle. I felt the bone snap. I got up and ran three more miles before going to the hospital. My point is that not putting weight on it is what the trainer told him to do. He never took his shoe off and they were moving his foot up and down.
That's all good. If he had a bad sprain or a break he would not have been sitting on the bench.

I played bball for my school, I wasn’t the best player or anything but I could play. Anyway speaking on sprained ankle’s personally they’re the worst injury man. You feel that the whole season no matter how bad it is honestly or at least a couple months. How bad those cuts and quick movements hurt says how bad ya sprained it. I know it’s gonna test Knecht a lot physically and mentally.

Barnes legit was on pace of playing the kid the entire game and was starting to cramp prior to the Injury...The 2nd game he was gonna play the entire game... The first he left with cramps.. This one he was starting to cramp before the injury... Barnes in game coaching is Def questionable

Barnes isn’t the trainer. Barnes can only assume that a player can go 40 if needed unless he’s advised otherwise. And it’s up to each player to stay high seated and not cramp.

The crap that you all come up with to criticize Barnes is asinine.

This team probably won’t sniff their full potential due to injuries this year I’m afraid.

With that being said, I hope it’s nothing too serious.

Kid is an offensive talent.
Even with him, they're simply not very good. You people realize that UNC sucks, right? They're ranked #17 on name brand alone. I mean, Hubert Davis is their coach for Christ's sake. It's going to be a struggle to make it to SEC play above .500. Illinois & NC State are automatic losses, & George Washington will be a dog fight that could go either way. The variable absolutely no one could have predicted with this team is Santi regressing to the point of being unplayable. He's literally the worst player on the roster. We'd be better off playing one of the white kids at the end of the bench.. At least we'd get 100% effort from any of them.

You’ve got a little water on the brain huh? Nice race tossing too, did you have to rough draft that before you posted?

I mean Aaron Rodgers is back already from an Achilles injury 😉.
We've come along with injury recovery. Hopefully he's back to full strength by Sec play.
I suppose someone other than JJJ will need to score occasionally in these upcoming non conference games.

If its a high ankle sprain he's done for at least a few weeks and likely won't be the same for the rest of the season, or until he can properly rehab it. But I will say people heal at different rates. Probably ought not count on him for a while though.

An incredible performance from DK but that ankle sprain was pretty severe. I have no doubt he will be back but it will be a lingering tender issue for quite awhile. Hard not to be tentative on it as well moving forward. Drives into the lane don’t seem as fun when you’re worried about tweaking ankle again.
