Hope we get him but did find it interesting that they mentioned on the VQ podcast from Monday (just listened this AM) that he looks real good when he goes against lower rated guys (dominated a guard committed to Colorado) but isn’t winning 1v1 vs Wright or some of the other big named guys.

Remember it’s the practice reps that the services are looking at for the most part. They look at how they play in the games, but it’s the whole week of work they want to see. So not playing in the game isn’t as harmful as you might think it might be.

Hope we can get him back.

The Vols may also decide to get back involved with SDE Charles Moore. The 4-star lineman was dominant at times in Orlando and seems to be regaining some of his explosiveness after last season’s knee injury. Moore told VolQuest he will OV in January and his commitment to Mississippi State is hardly firm. Auburn is the flip favorite, but Moore has lots of family in Nashville and has a good relationship with Tracy Rocker.

On the VQ podcast they said they think we could really be a factor here if we choose to be. They said he and his family loved their trip to Knoxville (not sure how far back that was) and even made it sound like he was close to flipping to us at that point, but we backed off. They also said that his mother really wants him to get out of the state of MS. They were also very complimentary about how explosive he looked this week and how competitive he was. They made it sound like we have a very legitimate shot here if we decide to pursue him aggressively.

Decommitted right after his visit to Florida. I hate the way this one is shaping up. My guess is gatas.

VQ said tonight that if the Vols want him it will be between us and Auburn. He's close with Rocker, but he's good friends with Handy, the AU commit.
