'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

So the reason we’re not outbidding them is bc they have a pyramid scheme king that blows money bc he doesn’t understand money and NOT bc Vol Club has 2800 members..

You can see how going up vs someone who you say doesn’t understand money would be difficult, right? No matter what you bid, you’ll be out-bid.
The Vol Club is not the big money that Sprye collects. That’s from the big money boosters that have been backing the program for years.

I thought I read somewhere that the staff views Franklin as a program changer. If so, why not out bid Miami?
You might not have to. Money isn't the only commodity in the deal. There's also the SEC, CRG, the hottest program in CFB right now, the education, etc. Whereas Miami has more hookers and blow to spend that extra $$$ on in January when Miami's season is over.

Miami definitely isn't playing in a 3/4 empty stadium. Their capacity it 64k and they averaged 55k last year. That's 85% capacity. No it's not anything close to what we have in Knoxville, but definitely not horrible for a pro town, party atmosphere.
Yeah, nah. I caught a couple of their home games last season, place was a graveyard. It looked more like a high school football team’s crowd than a P5 college football team’s crowd.

😂 😂 😂 There is no way in actual hell they averaged 55k per game of actual human beings there.

They may not but 3 different sites show they average that. I honestly haven't watched them play in years, so I was kind surprised by their attendance numbers based off comments in here. I also know VN has been know to exaggerate numbers and facts. Of course Prutt's last year, in particular looked like our attendance wasn't anywhere close to what the numbers showed. So I'm assuming for both schools that tickets sold and not the actual attendance.

Those numbers must be tickets sold and averaging 35k no shows.

That's my guess too. But we have done that too. Just like in 2019 our attendance avg was like 87k a game and there's no way in hell a few of those games had more than 70-75k. Then covid hurt the next season.

Like I said I haven't watched their games in a few yrs, just posting what is being claimed. They are a pro team city and hopefully Franklin realizes that. I would have stayed in trouble if I was in school at Miami.

I’m not saying AP is throwing us off. I’m saying maybe Franklin is one of the recruits throwing people off (including the recruiting sites).
We dont seem to go after guys like that, even if he was im sure someone close to him will talk (like how Rushing’s coach talked)

And now they’re going to have to compete with their MLS team which is the hottest ticket in North American professional sports.

Found this which states 43k average attendance which is a 12k difference. Pretty big difference!
The football team, which rallied from a rough start to win five of its last six games last season, drew an average of 43,698 fans to the 65,326-seat Hard Rock Stadium.Nov 1, 2022

If Franklin goes to Miami, a consideration of game day atmosphere will have nothing to do with his decision. Having said that, the idea of a 43k average attendance is a joke. I could find posted nowhere, single game day attendance. However, it goes without saying that North Carolina was one of the biggest home games for Miami last year (sounds kinda pathetic) and there is nowhere near 70% capacity for this game.

wow...if it is that bad, I can't help but wonder where their NIL money comes from. I know they got the one big money booster and I'm sure there are others, but that has to run out at some point without a fan base.

If they win anything at all it’ll be like their “fans” never left. We’ll all have to hear that obnoxious saying too. SMH.

The Vols last year had more wins against ACC opponents in Miami (one) than the hurricanes did (zero) and apparently did a better job filling their own stadium.

The 43,698 was their 21 Home attendance. 54,964 was their 22 Home Attendance. Got better last year but still nothing compared to ours.

Miami's nice as hell.

The stadium is trash, but the school and culture is 2nd to none.

Not gonna hate on em.
We'll still get some good guys!
Miami is nice in parts. I had a business conference near Key Biscayne a couple of years ago. Very nice area... if you can afford it.

Culture? Can't buy that one. OK... but not anything special compared to UT or many other top schools/towns.

I had to pickup a load out of Miami one time. Terrible. Extremely hard to maneuver a Semi in most parts. Then to top it off i had to ally back it down a street crowded with cars on both sides burried in 3ft of water.

Not one to be negative, but we need to figure out a way to close this one… NIL or not just figure it out and get him here. “Leading” for all these guys then them ending up somewhere else is getting annoying. Still like where we stand overall though
Maybe the coaches realize he's not a culture fit. There's alot more going on than getting the best prospects. Look at the money wasted by Texas A+m buying the best players. Let the Coaches do what they are paid to do, get the best possible players that play as a team. I know all it takes is 1 bad apple to ruin the bunch... #govols

If he commits to Miami that decision will have to survive another season for them that I can’t imagine will be much more successful than the awful campaign they had last year.

Unless their NIL offer just blows all competition away I don’t see it as better than 50/50 he remains a Cane IF he commits there. Doesn’t mean he’ll be a Vol, but we have until December to change his mind.
