'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

I think his Grandmother was a major deciding factor so this makes a lot of sense. A month ago, it looked like it was between us and Miami, but Miami had to get Grandma's approval. Kiffin is a sneaky ba$tard, so being close to home being a major factor was all he needed to deal the deal. The push by Auburn probably helped because it moved us and down the list.

I hate to say what if. But if we had landed Franklin, Nwaneri, and Rushing we'd probably tie UGA with the top class. Hopefully we can flip those 3 when their teams seasons go off the railing

We could’ve landed those 3 + Wingo and Jordan Ross for 24 commits and we’d still not be tied with UGA for the top spot

One by one we're losing these DT recruiting battles. It's so damn frustrating.

I’m not gonna jump down your throat because I understand where you’re coming from, but just understand that multiple football powers are having the same conversations about NIL and losing players at the last minute. Auburn fans are melting over this, but they’ll be ok, and so will we. Just be patient and enjoy the fireworks on Monday, and be thankful we’re not in the position Auburn is in anymore.

Kind of interesting to think about Auburn vs Ole Miss recruiting battles because there are still plenty of people around Oxford that can speak to Freeze's misdeeds while he was at Ole Miss, to stand in stark contrast of the preacher image/message that Freeze douses recruit families with.
The people who have been closest to him speak the highest of him. Personally, I think he’s a man with good intentions and poor self-control. But that was 4 years ago. Men change fast so I have no idea who he is today.

Oh good Lord you're gonna be crucified for saying everything isn't going great with DL recruiting 🙄

Why don't you come back in a couple of years with some FACTS about the production of the guys RG brings on board compared to these high profile guys that decided to go elsewhere. Until then you guys can only feature the impact of these decisions on our class rankings. But yeah, it is not out of order to wish some of these emotionally challenged posters would seek relief by utilizing counseling rather than public venting on our boards. Some of us have even noticed a disturbing trend with of these folks. It appears that redundantly posting or liking these posts is a tendency that goes along with this selected path of fandom. Why anyone declaring as a fan would want to infer that guys that want to be VOLS are inferrior before they ALL hit the field is troubling and needs publicly challenging. You never know, we may luck up and have addition by subtraction with some of these misses. Gifted athletes are not always scheme or cultural fits.

Now if you guys feel like some posters are overplaying the impact potential of our commits feel free to bring that up and share the facts that support that rationale. Please do not confuse hope and faith in our staff with arrogance in the other direction.

You know, it's okay to admit that we're struggling with DT recruiting. It's not a knock on the coaches. We obviously wanted Nwaneri, but that damn Missouri law won out (at least for now). We obviously wanted Franklin, but home state school (and probably a large NIL deal) won out. Some obstacles cannot be overcome. So it's not really the fault of RG or any of the other coaches as sometimes the playing field just isn't level. But it doesn't change the truth that we're currently struggling at recruiting DTs. Doesn't mean we won't find one or flip one before the early signing period. We still have 4 months to go. But right here in the now, struggling.

I agree with you. Lot of this board forgets Trey Smith, everybody offered and hoped to land him. Trey stuck with his home state school even we were not a title contender. Anybody remember the top notch coach we had then? I hope this young man has a good career, no matter where he's at pro scouts will notice his play
