I don't think they are concerned about the QB situation enough to be settling for their 2nd option just because he is ready to commit. Having Nico and Merk stacked back to back means they can be fine if they happened to miss both. Plus they know what the system/coaching does for QBs. So if they needed to use the transfer portal for a QB in the future they would probably have their pick. I think the gap between GMac and Deuce is much larger in the coach's evaluation than in our fans' evaluations.

Are you allowed to be a wet blanket that lacks the confidence that our coaches have in their plan to succeed? Absolutely you are allowed. However, for the life of me, I have never been able to figure out why people choose to be a wet blanket. You do you brotha.

Where did you get that from what his post said? If we were to miss out on 2 QB recruits in 2025 it isn’t the end of the world. We could still succeed in both HS recruiting or through the portal.

But if you want me to answer that back half for you, not everyone is wired to be a sunshine pumper with blind faith. Especially true after Kiffin/Dooley/Butch/Pruitt.

Always enjoy the trivial usage of "sunshine pumpers" when posters lack the ability to use context and logic to examine circumstances. When people lack the ability to fully comprehend something they tend to minimize arguments into soundbites. Things will not go perfect. Mistakes will be made. There is no issue with recognizing that. Reveling in every singular piece of bad news and even possible (but not yet) bad news does not make someone a realist. It makes them a wet blanket.

1. Very well could be, but how should we know? 2. Not sure I agree. Personally would like to have a 3 deep at the position that doesn’t include a walk-on or lesser transfer guy. It’s not an unforeseen circumstance to lose a qb or two to injury or other factor. 3. Might turn silver into gold but it’s not gonna make a crap pancake into a platinum platter 4. very well could be so, but we also haven’t shown quite a affinity for the portal so far 5. Maybe, but we have no way of knowing that.

Love the different view points @therickbol quality speculation for good conversation.

@therickbol I don’t consider myself a wet blanket. No skies are falling for this Vol. Just saying I’ve seen stupid games played and stupid prizes won. If you go all in on a player you might get them (Nico), but if you don’t then a bigger mistake was made than taking a qb and still recruiting the one you think is better to either join that qb or take their spot.

I’m surprised there is no discussion on here about Lipscomb Academy’s game tonight against Saraland (AL). It’s televised on ESPN. Lipscomb just took a 7-3 lead with 11:46 left in the 2nd quarter.

I have only seen the 2nd quarter, but I haven’t been that impressed with Deuce so far. He has had a couple passes that have been dropped though.
