'25 MS QB Deuce Knight (Auburn commit)

my hs coaches were tunnel rats in vietnam.

'Coach, I think Id do better in CF.' Or, here's a fun one. Not running off the ball field. Or, complaining about the heat. Or just complaining or talking in general. Usually warranted...View attachment 576467
Look at you...being all McGillish..

I can't really say how I think about this...on one hand commitment is a joke to a lot kids nowadays, but that doesn't necessarily apply in every case or this case.

If the staff is so bad that it will harm his future, or the fit is so bad it will harm his future...then I don’t blame him for getting out, but the question I have is why did he ever go there to start with if it is so bad for him?

I worked with high school boarding students for a dozen years, and homesickness hits kids in unpredictable ways and at unpredictable times. The "trigger" is often something so subtle that the kids don't recognize it until the following year.

Don't know anything about Deuce's situation beyond what @Orange. posted, but something like a grandparent getting ill can be extremely tough on a kid, especially if he's never experienced the loss of a loved one. The better the family, the more loyalty and duty a young man feels toward it.

From my experience, the more a good, mature kid has received from his family--especially sacrifices to afford him opportunities--the more he feels compelled to return in kind.

Let's not read the negativity of our much longer life experiences into this young man's first time away from home. Heupel liked and believed in this kid, and family is a huge part of that.

It’s an Internet message board. People are going to talk.

It’s literally the purpose of this medium.
Understood. But just because something exists doesn't make it beneficial for human beings or community.

Technocracy has no ethics or morality, but it always pushes us to behave amorally, to behave like the machine that it is. So we humans have to push back, have to reassert our humanity into that technology.

Between man and technology, one of us is ultimately going to be the slave of the other. And I know I ain't smarter than it.

🥴🤪 that was deep..

Gotta be honest, I don't know the particulars behind this decision, but leaving your team during the season is a concern. Maybe his OL stinks. Maybe the offense they run isn't his cup of joe. Maybe they won't win at a certain level this year. Maybe the cheerleaders aren't cute enough. When things aren't going your way, you man up and see things thru. What about your teammates? To pick up your ball after 3 games and move on leaving them high and dry is just a bad look. Maybe his handlers/family insisted, but even it that's the case, they'll be following him to his new school and college. Hope things work out for him, but this just doesn't seem right to me.

BUT it does not justify the abandonment of logic and ethical behavior, nor the use of rebuttal and admonishment by others utilizing their free speech rights in response. ANOTHER purpose of this medium. Discretion is still a valid option and is not diminished for the sake of expediency.

Got some truth, good or bad, bring it without fear. Speculation, not so much. Nor the defense of it.

Logic and ethical behavior?

Again, this is an anonymous internet message board.

You’re screaming into the void. Admonishment of speculation is not going to affect behavior here.

More ethics and morality…

Anonymous. Internet. Message Board.

Chastise them all you want. I’m sure that’ll stop it.
