The perception is that we don't run the football. The talking heads on TV tend to focus on our passing attack and our running backs aren't being touted as household names. It would be great to get a game breaker from the portal, I just don't think it's likely this year. Not because they wouldn't want to come here, but because that type of back isn't likely to be available this round. Best case scenario is to sign one from a mid major or FCS school (a guy no one knows about like Jared Verse last year) and a high school back, and also hope that one of our current guys develops into that big play threat. We have 3 with the physical ability to do that.

Wright and Sampson have gamebreaking speed. Sampson just needs to work on pass pro. I’d like for this staff to pursue Dallan Hayden from OSU since he’s a Tennessee legacy and we’re a national contender again

Idc about Hayden or that idea but at this point OSU might let him leave. He has the lowest ypc of any back this season for them at 4.8. The others have 7.8 and 6.3. And a dude with less attempts at 6.6.

Hayden has been getting playing time due to injuries at Ohio St. and has played well. All his social media indicates that he loves it there. I had hoped he would've given this staff more consideration in his initial recruitment.

Maybe he does now that we’re winning. I think it’s safe to say he’ll never be their RB1 or RB2 there if everyone is healthy
