I think it was sincere. He is a fairly classic Cincinnati conservative...humble roots, business-oriented, and susceptible to water-works (OK...I added the last one in there).

I just learned from Lawrence O'Donnell that the Tea Party saved the Democrats from an historic loss.

Does MSNBC realize that by saying the Tea Party is losing seats for the GOP, that they're making the Democrats look worse? To me it's like fans chanting overrated to an opposing team.
